Aupex is a young Power Metal band from Grenobles, France. They play a nice technical melodic Metal with a lot of keyboards and above all, with a female vocalist. If all is not perfect yet, let me tell you that this demo is really promising and I'm quite sure that we will have the luck to hear some good words about them in the future.

First, let's talk about Elodie, the singer. Like with each Metal bands that chose to have a female singer, it's hard to avoid to focuses on her vocals. Well she is not bad at all, even if I regret that the mixing of the album doesn't give a lot of chance to her sweet voice. I mean that that the others instruments are so powerful that it is a bit hard to listen to her sometime, though, Elodie doesn't follow the trend of the symphonic female singer, she only sings with a classic but really beautiful voice and that's a good thing for me.

About the music, we're in front of a really effective Power Metal really technical and not so far away of a Dragonforce for example. The rhythms are strong and fast, the melodies are catchy and even "friendly" sometime but on the other hand the lead guitarist is really impressive and is able to do excellent solos. Same with the keyboard that are really present and lead the melodies like the ambiances. There is only three songs on this Demo, but there is quality and the good production (except for this point with Elodie's voice) give me some great hopes for the future of the band.

This is a promising demo, and we lack of such melodic bands in France then I think that they Auspex could have a good future. Evidently there are only three songs but still it's good and I hope that I will have the luck to listen to one of their new productions in a near future. Don't forget this name Aupex !!!
