Sequel of the first Demo of this Irish band, "Fragment (Piece II)" is out now to prove that we can have some good Thrash/Metalcore in Ireland too. Unfortunately I didn't have the luck to listen to their first demo but I read some good things about it and I must confess that this new release probably follow the same way since that it is not a deception for me.

When you'll listen to the first song of this Demo, "Crooked Path", you'll quickly understand that Chosen chose to play a mix of Thrash and Metalcore. Understand that the riffs are classic Thrash riffs but on each songs and everytime, in addition of the heavy and "speedy" riffs, you'll be able to find some nice hyper melodic and "singing" choruses. That's the base of the Metalcore the songs are always super melodic and a lot of time you have some soft popy choruses. It's the case on this album but don't believe that the music of Chosen lacks of power. Though even if it sound Metalcore, it's Thrash too, I mean that the voice of the singer and the musical orientations of the songs are near of US classic Thrash and it give the energy to the music.

So ok some of you will find it a bit "nice" if you see what I mean but it works and this demo is good and promising for the future of the band. On the other hand if the booklet, CD etc really look professional, the sound is a bit weak, not the worst but I'm sure that it could be better, and I hope that it will be better in the future.

"Fragment (Piece II)" is a good Demo and if you're not allergic to the hyper melodic choruses, you'll like it I'm sure. Juts have a look on the Mp3 that we can find on their site and you'll understand what I mean. Promising, promising?
