I'm also getting into lots of non metal music: prog rock (Lazuli, Yes, Pink Floyd, Camel, Beardfish, Porcupine Tree), post rock (Autumn Moonlight, Explosions in the Sky, The Samuel Jackson Five, Long Distance Calling), some "psychedelic" rock (Eidetic Seeing, Litmus, Weird Owl)... And there's also a few exceptions that don't match any genre above, like Alex Skolnick Trio, Coldplay, Paramore and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers xD
