When I was in the US I only met one person roughly my age who listened to metal, but I'm sure there are more, although the religious background might have a negative impact

There are a few of them though for sure, in France I've made several friends who are into metal and go beyond surface level stuff as well

Yeah zoomers aren't into metal all that much, although bands like slipknot or deftones manage to keep a decent amount of popularity
