Suggestion For Arda's Friends

first of all, this list is not a best or something like that. we use to chat a lot about arts like, music, movies and books. we recommend this things to each other, we have IMDb for movies, Goodreads for books and here Metal Storm for music which is mostly metal we listen...
this list has no particular order, nor any rules and meaning! i just put my recommendation based on our talks there, here, so they can keep track. if it's useful for you, let me know and i'll be glad
oh, one last thing, this list will be updated regularly with more additional notes

1. Adimiron - Timelapse
as in it's review, this band has a very distinctly Gojira sludgy-crunchy-grind thing going on and it's awesome
2. Agalloch - Ashes Against The Grain
one of the albums i always have in mind. an atmospheric neofolk black post metal (i can't describe them completely) which impress you in many ways
3. Agalloch - Faustian Echoes
an EP (one 21-ish minutes long track) which tells story of Faust in a very catchy atmosphere and a good story to listen
4. Agalloch - Marrow Of The Spirit
it's Agalloch, love it or die :D
5. Caladan Brood - Echoes Of Battle
a very epic black metal band which impressed lots of people with their first album, you can hear Summoning influenced them but they have their own awesome sound too, with a great book to back it's lyrics... i want more!
6. Carach Angren - Death Came Through A Phantom Ship
when you love black metal, epic music, symphonic elements with supernatural and horror story, this can be a mix of what you need, their perspective and story telling through the album is something worth listening
7. Clouds - Doliu
what a masterpiece! this album made 2014 (a very bad year for me in many personal ways) a very different year for me, just listen to them, drown yourself to the atmosphere of their music
8. Edge Of Sanity - Crimson
the second longest one-track album i ever heard (you will reach the first very soon :D) an awesome progressive death metal track which you don't get tired of and you can't say how many times you are listening to it!
9. Eye Of Solitude - Dear Insanity
here we are, the longest on-track (EP) album i ever heard. this is something very unique and worth listening to, the name of the album (and the song) really suits the feeling of it, don't miss this 50 minutes ride
10. Forest Of Shadows - Six Waves Of Woe
what an extraordinary album, atmospheric melodic doom metal with best everything! Niclas Frohagen really know his ways...
11. Helevorn - Compassion Forlorn
such a good name! Helevorn was the deep, mountain-shaded lake in northern Thargelion at the foot of Mount Rerir. A stream flowed from its southwest corner into the Greater Gelion. After the return of the Noldor to Middle-earth the people of Caranthir dwelt about the lake. Its waters were defiled by Orcs during the Dagor Bragollach ("Battle of Sudden Flame"). It was destroyed in the War of Wrath along with Mount Rerir, though it partially survived. beside it's connection to our community (Tolkien fantasy related) they have something unforgettable in gothic doom. you start from the top and finish below, must listen to it --- and Helevorn means "Black Glass" in Sindarin. It was probably translated from an earlier Khuzdul name such as "Narag-zâram"
12. Insomnium - Since The Day It All Came Down
what can i say... if you like melodic death metal, listen to this album! it's not perfect but it has some great riffs which you will be stuck on them for a while
13. Nightingale - Retribution
and easily digesting melodic metal with little progressive elements i think which is good for the times you don't have the focus for heavy and complex albums
14. Novembers Doom - Bled White
did you listen to them at last? :D
15. October Falls - The Plague Of A Coming Age
if you like Agalloch, especially the album i mentioned above, you will love this album, i like the story, the music, the artwork, the vocal and everything, a job done well by Mikko Lehto
16. Sylosis - Dormant Heart
they have powerful melodic progressive thrash death metal style which i wrote half of this list with their awesome sound, their music is GREAT and solos will kill you! be watchful
17. The Neologist - Coming Full Circle
this album is awesome, catchy and you have to listen to them! don't care about it's score, listen for yourself and then we can talk. i can't say better than Susan, so here it is "Slight melodic metalcore and prog elements creep in some and the result is a highly engaging, streamlined sound. Melody is key, which results in an excellent genre album with some very moving tunes."
18. Usnea - Random Cosmic Violence
i don't have enough experience in this style and it's one of a kind for me, very distinctive sound and lyric which draw you to itself, it's enchanting? call for someone? magic? everything it is, they are good at it
19. Vesania - Deus Ex Machina
another quality symphonic black metal
20. Eden Circus - Marula
such a beautiful album. an easy sound to listen but it won't forget the harsh parts and it's entertaining... and very atmospheric, just wait till the last track
21. Napalm Death - Apex Predator - Easy Meat
i'm not use to this kind of sound and i mostly prefer melodic stuff but it has good heavy elements with some very catchy moments that worth listening to, the first track remind me of "Lying in Ruin" of Usnea from their Random Cosmic Violence album
22. Soen - Cognitive
an awesome discovery! just listen to the vocal, drumming, guitar techniques and the melodies, you will be blown away! and when you find your way to 9th track, you can drown yourself in it
23. Finsterforst - Weltenkraft
if you like Extreme Folk Metal and heavily melodic music, you should check this album (and band) soon, if you like Finntroll & Equilibrium, checking this will be more urgent
24. Sivyj Yar - From The Dead Villages' Darkness
or Сивый Яр - Из тьмы вымерших деревень, this album was one of the best things i heard in the beginning of 2015 thanks to the reviewer, it has Pagan/Folk elements with a lot of feelings in it with touch of black and a bit ambient (intro & outro is just awesome), the atmosphere he created can drag you in even you just read the name of the tracks, definitely worth listening and capturing the creator feelings
25. Draugnim - Northwind's Ire
do you like folk metal? how about an epic atmospheric sound? if your answer is yes, if you like Windir or something like Finntroll and you want more, this is your choice! a beautifully arranged epic sound with Folk and Black elements which can drive you insane, just close your eyes and listen to it from the beginning and float in it, this band must get more attention!
26. Downfall Of Nur - Umbras De Barbagia
very powerful, full of feelings. if you want a mix of Black and Folk music with Atmospheric elements, Epic and Sorrowful sound, you should listen to this, the instruments are awesome, you can listen everything you need to and you will be stunned from the first moments of the album till the end
27. Ethereal Shroud - They Became The Falling Ash
you can find the complete description in the official review, but as you are here, i can tell you this album brings up the coldness, the loneliness and all the feelings when you walk in a dark corner alone for yourself, like a desolated forest in winter, just close your eyes and listen to him
28. Kingcrow - Eidos
a prog album that make you cry!
