My Favourite Opening Songs

So I was listening to some Esoteric the other day and I thought to myself...that Circle song is pretty flawless for the opening. So I came here and made my Top 50 (ordered) opening songs I could think of. There are no intro songs and I also did not include one song albums (so no Crimson, Heathen or Epos here).

1. Paysage d'Hiver - Paysage d'Hiver
2. Drudkh - Forgotten Legends
3. Esoteric - The Maniacal Vale
4. Burzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss
5. Lunar Aurora - Zyklus

Albums You Should Check Out Instead Of New Dream Theater

Dream Theater are good for what they are, and what they are is a stepping stone into prog. To be fair, they have some great albums (WDADU, I&W, and Awake), but once Kevin Moore left, it's been a steady decline, leaving nothing but scattered moments.
These bands are, in a way, the 'next step.' They represent the meat of prog, in albums that showcase the range of the genre.

1. Anekdoten - Vemod
2. Arcane - Known/Learned
3. Arena - Contagion
4. Beardfish - Sleeping In Traffic: Part Two
5. Communic - Waves of Visual Decay
