I tried to steer clear of pretty much anything that uses distortion, and really rock in general. For instance, Zombie by the The Cranberries is pretty metal in its own way, but not pop enough for this list. I did make an exception for Say Anything as they swing a bit further in the pop direction despite the distortion. No rap either, or this would be a very different monster (Bone Thugs, Gravediggaz, Wu-Tang, etc.). These are the songs that for one reason or another give off a dark, metal vibe without actually going there. Comments should be interesting.

If you make a quick comparison between 2014 and the previous years Top 20 Album lists, you would notice that the top album of 2014, have the lowest rating average compared to 2013,2012, 2011 and 2010. Every year, hundreds of albums are written and released for people to buy and hopefully not steal. I spend most of my free time searching far and wide for new music, most of which only very few people know about. This list will contain all the albums released this year that I listened to, and what I thought of it. The rating system is as follows:
Based = Awesome, Perfect
Chill = Solid, Substantial
Dope = Good-not-great, Something I'll only listen to if I'm bored
Retarded = Mediocre, Unremarkable
Mindfucked = Complete waste of time
Also, there will be albums that aren't metal that will appear here, just cause.

Whenever I browse the winterwebz looking for good stuff to listen to, it's unavoidable that I end up facing atrociously bad stuff. However some of these horrid choices are still interesting and thus manage to stay on my head and somehow my interest for them keeps growing from time to time.
This list is dedicated to those bad things that still are interesting somehow. (read it: averagely bad stuff like skryllex or lulu isn't welcome here) Maybe, just maybe, someday I'll be able to develop my taste and start liking them? Who knows? That's how I got to Unexpect or Sunn o))) after all.
There's mostly metal, actually mostly black metal stuff here. I'll add more as I remember or find more. Suggestions are welcome =] If you have a band which it's so bad you can't stand but still keep coming back to it because it's intriguing then give a shout.
