I Like Big Hits And I Can Not Lie (Part II: 21st Century) Stuff that got me hooked in the course of the years, from my very first blurred memories as a toddler to the present day.
Lots of catchy tunes, some cheese, very few flowers. Songs that had a big impact on me and influenced my taste in music. Stuff to let it all hang out, songs for campfire sing-alongs and soundtracks to slit your wrists to. Love at first sight listen. This is part II of II, covering the years since 2001. Despite of the list's personal character, suggestions are very welcome. After all I'm old and I may just have forgotten lots of stuff that did make my day. 2019 It may have been a slow start to 2019, but May and June have started to kick things into high gear. I recently decided to start collecting vinyl, which has lead me to start a list. It's been a couple years since I've done one, so I figured I'm due. Enjoy.

Old Nick's Top-30 Of 2019 This is the list of albums I had on heavy rotation during 2019. If an album was very good but way too long or demanding to listen to it more than twice, you won't see it here (e.g. Esoteric). I have limited attention span and favourite albums are called "favourite" because we keep listening to them non-stop. The order below is more or less accurate.

Artwork: Doom Metal Albums This is a list of doom metal albums based on their artwork (in reverse alphabetical order). It includes iconic cover art from classic albums as well as fascinating work from more recent releases.
There is a saying that "you should not judge a book by its cover", which is of course also true in the case of music albums. However, the artwork can complement the production and give a visual introduction to the musical theme and atmosphere. More than for any other kind of music, this may be true for metal.

The Best Metal Albums* From A To # (D) This list is meant to be an extensive, but by no means exhaustive, collection of the greatest (modern) metal albums and eps.
