I really enjoyed the album The Unborn...and even their last album was good! Unfortunately I also think they will end up disbanding.

Ya they seemed very pessimistic about the band's future in their last news update. With that amount of negativity you can't expect much else but for them to disband.

Why troy... why must you always kill the joy in my day so-to-speak.

After reading the comments here I became alarmed that the future of this album looks pale, but checking MPE's site calmed me again. So, for anyone who might pass by this conversation, MPE is back in full force and the album is planned for December 2012, everything seems to be OK at the moment.

One of my very first melodeath bands. I've totally forgotten about them and now I'm curious how they'd sound like.

This album gives The Unborn a run for it's money. Totally blew me away. So much better than Liberation.

Vocals remind me of Petri Lindroos from Ensiferum.

Really? Unborn is among my top 5 melodic death / gothenburg / extreme power releases. My hopes are quite high on this now lol

The Unborn is in my Top 5 as well, so you know how good I think this is then haha. It blows me away how much it sounds like the old MPE considering they lost both guitarists and their bassist. Might be album of the year for me.

Unfortunately I've found some people say the new album is "A little too obvious, not as extreme as you might hope", "Sometimes the tracks lack excitement, as if MPE have taken a wrong turning at a crossroads","I had extremely high hopes for it, but it's all too straight forward and sounds the same to me" and sth. like that.
What happened?Maybe this album is not that awesome, just good, even ok!? Though i can't believe that,Jori's Departure could had negative influence.Who's writing songs now?

This is even worse than Unsung Heroes. Well performed stuff but extremely shallow songwriting. Almost nothing memorable in it.

When I first saw this in the list of releases, I dismissed it as a Live-album. The title is a bit misleading in that regard
But anyways, at first listen (to the streaming on http://www.inferno.fi/uutiset/inferno-tarjoaa-kuuntele-uusi-mors-principium-est-levy/) it sounds a lot different from Unborn, which is an album I really, really like.

First listen I thought it was ok, but after several more listens it has grown on me. It's an excellent, well performed album. The new guitarists are great and the songs, imo, are quite memorable (there are a few standout songs). In some ways, it mixes both The Unborn and Liberation = Termination. It's one epic album.
However, there's something about the album...it just doesn't feel like Mors Principium Est to me. It feels more like an excellent debut album of another band.
Excellent nonetheless

Yeah, kind of... though excellence is far from this one.
Slight bump to the rating from me. I can now remember something but I still have big trouble telling songs apart because the memorable is very scarce. At least The Unborn is a decent album with an identity of an established band.

The fact that there's a Brit on guitar increases the rating. It's not as good as their debut but it's better than their other 2.

Honestly I wouldn't have even known the two guitarists were new if nobody had said anything. Overall it still sounds like classic MPE with some really sick songs. Ville is awesome as usual!

I think 8 is fair and a really good rating for this album, I'm stunned by this album considering what went on while working on it, just comes to show their level of professionalism and the ambitions each member has for the band. Few really good songs here and there and a remarkably enjoyable listen, I can't say that about many bands in this genre sadly.
