The last/third track blew my mind. Really damn good album.

Yeah this is good stuff, I suspect I'll be returning to this for further listens (and possibly more generous scoring). I love the subtle piano on Part II and the ghostly vocals on Part III. They transform it from oppressive crushing to quite melancholic and thought-provoking. The final track is an especially poignant ending knowing it's their last ever album.
The whole thing can be listened here btw.

Last album ever? Why?

Last album ever? Why?
I can't find anything stating the reasons for it being the last, but every summary of the album seems to mention it. There doesn't seem to be any recent interviews of the band. The only thing I can see is that the duo are going their separate ways.

Hopefully they'll continue making music, if not, this is more than a worthy end to their career.

After a couple more listens I've decided to move this down to an 8 (from a 9). It's a great album, but doesn't hold enough outstanding content for a 9
