Isn't "Back to the Kingdom" a sequel to "Kingdom of the Night" already?

This album greatly impressed me. Both the black and white editions were fantastic in my opinion. A possible 10/10 for me, but we'll see how it holds up. This one will definitely be on the top 10 albums of 2014 list for me at least.

I was sceptic about this album, a double album by Axxis with the cheap name Kingdom of the Night II. Yeah no thanks. Now 6 years later I took my time and gave it a shot, and you know what? It actually rocks! For the majority at least. The most obvious thing with this record is that you can sense how fun they had writing this record, it's a joy to hear them play follow-up songs to their two biggest classics (Kingdom of the Night and Living in a World) and also bust out some of their most lively songs to date as Dance into Life and Mary Married a Monster. The Black Edition is clearly better overall but some of the songs on the White Edition are my favourites. So it's worth checking out both discs.

In my opinion they could have scaled it down into a single 12 song cd and then added a bonus disc with another 5-6 songs. I have only listened to it twice now but if I would make a single disc version it would like this:

1. Kingdom of the Night II
2. Venom
3. Beyond the Sky
4. Living in a Dream
5. 21 Crosses
6. The War
7. Never Again
8. Lass Dich Gehn
9. Soulfire
10. Mary Married a Monster (Her Version)
11. Bites Inside
12. Dance Into Life

This would easily be my favourite Axxis record. No contest.
