Biography

During the fall of 2003 Lord Irrbloss got the idea of forming the band Irrbloss. The band started out as a one-man band but soon evolved to a two-man band in 2004 as Frid joined on guitar. Together they wrote the bands first song Vandringssägen. At this time both Lord Irrbloss and Frid had several projects going on simultaneously, which led to the fact that the project was put aside for some time. In the fall of 2006 they both met again to plan the future for Irrbloss and then decided to make Irrbloss a full band with a complete line-up. Isojärvi and Vettfall joined shortly after on drums and guitar respectively. Irrbloss recorded their first demo, Hymns, in early 2007. During these recordings the bass was played by Frid, but soon after this Rym joined the band to fill in on the bass duties full time. From spring 2007 to fall 2008 Irrbloss did several live performances as well as wrote the material for their first full-length album Bloodline, which was recorded in the fall of 2008. Soon after the recordings Rym left the band at the disposal of Vrind who filled the bass vacancy in the winter of 2008. Bloodline was released the 6:th of February 2009.

The bands first gig outside of Sweden was at the German festival Ragnarök in April 2009 where they played with great bands like Týr, Månegarm, Korpiklaani, Alestorm and Fejd. Until the fall of 2010 Irrbloss performed live both in Sweden and abroad while simultaneously writing the music for the next album. In the fall of 2010 Frid decided to leave Irrbloss whereupon the band lost its guitarist and main songwriter. His place was soon taken by guitarist and songwriter Norrsköld. At this time the band quickly had to write new material for the upcoming record, which led to a delaying of the album recordings. During early 2011 drummer Isojärvi departed from the band and no live gigs where made during 2011. In the summer of the same year, after the completion of the instrument recordings, Vettfall also made the decision to leave Irrbloss and thereby left the band in the sparse constellation of a singer, a bassist and a guitarist. The band completely focused on completing the material for the upcoming album as well as finding new band members. Fortunately, drummer Surtr was available as he'd recently quit his previous band and thereby replaced Isojärvi on the drums. Although most of the recordings for the new album were complete, the band postponed the record release and completely put their efforts on rehearsing with their new drummer to prepare for live gigs and to refine the collection and quality of songs on the upcoming album.

After some gigs in 2012 and some time in the studio, Vrind and Norrsköld decided to leave the band leaving Lord Irrbloss yet again with a band with an incomplete Line-up. After a month of testing new members, Grímr and Niihil filled the empty guitar spot and Úlfr filled the empty bass spot which made Irrbloss full again.
