1994
Six East German musicians from Berlin and Schwerin founded the band Rammstein.

1995
The album "Herzeleid" is cut in Stockholm at Polar-Studio in co-operation with the Swedish producer Jacob Hellner (producer of the Swedish crossover band Clawfinger e.g.) and Carl-Michael Herloffsen. Rammstein tour with the German EBM band Project Pitchfork, support Clawfinger in Warsaw and Prague and do their first headliner tour in Germany.

1996
The American director David Lynch selects two Rammstein songs for his new film "Lost Highway": "Heirate mich" and "Rammstein".

1997
After its first release in 1996 when "Herzeleid" claimed the charts for 29 weeks it re-enters in February '97 to stay again unwaveringly until March '98. The first single "Engel" taken from the following album "Sehnsucht" (which enters the album charts at #12) is released. In May "Herzeleid" reaches gold for selling more than 250.000 albums. In August the second album "Sehnsucht" is released with six different cover designs each showing a Helnwein portrait of the Rammstein musicians. "Sehnsucht" enters the album charts at #1. "Herzeleid" also enters the top twenty of the album charts. "Engel" as well as "Du hast" are among the top twenty. "Sehnsucht" goes platinum in Germany even before it"s available in the shops!

1998
Rammstein produce a cover version of the Depeche Mode track "Stripped" in the Vox recording studio in Hambourg. In May they receive an award at Echo (biggest German music prize) for "Engel" in the category "Best Video". The video "Du riechst so gut '98 is produced. The filming is held at in an old castle in Potsdam and a hunting lodge used by the former GDR government in the Berlin district of Pankow. Rammstein are nominated for the category "Best Rock Act" at the MTV European Music Awards in Milan and perform "Du hast".

1999
Rammstein are nominated for the 42nd Annual Grammy Award in the category "Best Metal Performance" and awarded an Echo in the category "Most Successful German Artist Abroad". The album / video "Live aus Berlin" which had been recorded at Parkbuhne Wuhlheide in Berlin is released. Additionally a double cd as a limited edition is available. Even after two weeks of the album's release it reaches #1 in the album charts.

2000
Rammstein are working on a new album.

2001
The new album "Mutter" is released on 04/03/2001. The videos for "Sonne" and "Links 2 3 4" are running on VIVA, VIVA 2 and MTV starting with the highest possible weekly rotation.

2004
The album Reise Reise is released. Some of the great songs to come from this album are Mein Teil and Keine Lust.

2005
After only one year, the band releases Rosenrot on October 25, 2005 in Germany. The first single from the album, Benzin, premiered at the Berliner Wuhlheide.

2009
Rammstein released yet another great album, Liebe ist fur alle da. This album is loaded with controversy. The single, "Pussy," is likened to an adult porn video. Jonas Akerlund produced the "Pussy" video and has plans to work on another video for the band upon the release of their next album.

2010
Rammstein tours under the "Liebe ist fur alle da" album. They film the tour in Ontario, Canada, and at Madison Square Gardens, New York, New York, in the United States. The DVD is to be released in the Fall of 2011 during the band's "Made in Germany..." tour.

2011
Rammstein is due to release their greatest hits album "Made in Germany: 1994 - 2011." While on tour in California, United States of America, the band was filming yet another controversial video under the direction of Jonas Akerlund.
