Biography

Thunderblast was established as a band in 2003 by German Guerra and Felipe Machado Franco, after dissolving their previous band Sidereal. From the start point, the idea for Thunderblast involved a clear Power Metal European oriented music style combined with elements from the 80s and 90s US Thrash Metal. The band then starts to compose the material for their first CD called "Warzone". This CD was entirely produced and published by the band in mid 2004 and had a small distribution deal in the US by Sentinel Steel Records. After the CD was out the band received great reviews from it.

By that time Felipe Machado Franco was singing and also playing bass in the band. Between 2005 and 2006 the band focuses on playing live at local concepts in Bogota. Then a series of lineup problems came along and the band constantly changed the drummer. The basic problem was to find a drummer that could really play fast double bass and bring a great vibe for the band. It was until mid 2007 that the band joined forces with eighteen year old drummer Jaime Moreno. After realizing that for the first time the band had a really stable and compact line up the decision to produce a new promo to get a record deal started. In May of 2008 Thunderblast expands his lineup and Felipe decides to only concentrate on singing and so David Castro Fayad enters as the new bass placer and Victor Mosquera joins in as the second live guitar player.

That same year the new promo CD of five songs "When Zombies Rise" was recorded an published on the bands MySpace. By November 2008 the band makes part of Bogota's biggest free rock festival called Rock Al Parque and a few days later the band opened Judas Priest concert in Bogota. 2009 and 2010 where years that the band used to compose and record there second CD called "Invaders From Another World" and to play live at cities inside Colombia where they never had shows before as well as opening 2010 Spanish Heavy Metal band Saratoga concert in Bogota. By 2009 David Castro Fayad leaves the band and German Rojas enters the band as the new bass player. In 2010 after promoting the previous promo CD "When Zombies Rise" the band caught the attention of German record company Pure Steel Records and signed a record deal with them to release the second CD of the band "Invaders From Another World". The CD will be out in the first months of 2011.
