Biography

With the undeniable weight and groove of Webb's signature sound and Turner's soaring, rich vocals, it is easy to understand why Solsikk mrepresent a unique voice and experience. Eschewing the operatic approach all too frequent amongst current female fronted groups, Solsikk represent a unique voice and experience they are rapidly gaining a well deserved following.

From the embers of Webb's previous group Biomechanical, came a new and more refined sound that was both heavy, melodic, layered and accessible. With addition of Turner's vocals, and a delivery ranging from guttural roar and smooth vibrato through to high screams, Turner is every bit as stunning as her voice suggests.

This sound would be further enriched by the addition of Mark Mulcaster on bass whose awareness and powerful approach added both soul and depth in equal measure to the often demanding parts. Well known for his speed, technique and power, as a former band mate of Webb's, Matt.C was approached about occupying the drum stool, bringing with him added groove and intensity.

Since their inception, Solsikk's reputation for high energy live shows and Gravity well sized riffs has led them to support slots with likes of Tarja, Epica, Revamp, Five Finger Death Punch, Sirenia and Furyon and Anna Phoebe, as well as festival performances at Bloodstock Open Air, Hammerfest and The Femme Metal UK festival.

Following on from their much praised EP. "Volatile Territory" Solsikk have graced the pages of both Metal Hammer and the UK's Terrorizer magazine citing earning plaudits for Bravura and virtuoso performance. The group now release their long awaited self titled debut album worldwide through Femme Metal Records.
