Chimaira is derived from the monster in Ancient Greek mythology, the 'Chimaera'. Comprised of three lethal parts (the head of a lion, the body of a goat and the tail of a dragon) the Chimaera breathed fire and fear into the hearts of many. There are several spellings of the word. Other proposed names at the time included "Sphere", "Rupture" and "Blood for Nine". |
