22:53 - Erik M. Was that friend Marcel? I only met Marcel twice but the first time at Dordrecht Doom Day III he was shouting "The Netherlands!!!" at a band who referred to this country as "Holland". Hahaha.
22:49 - Erik M. Zaphod, my bad then. I didn't know that. I always find it funny we (the Dutch) make fun of you guys being dumb and all, while you beat us at "our" language most of the time on TV. :P
22:48 - Zaphod I had a Dutch friend once who kept getting annoyed at me doing exactly that :P
22:46 - Erik M. Holland = North Holland and South Holland btw. Two provinces out of 12. I'm definitely against referring to The Netherlands as "Holland", even though many non-Dutch and Dutch people do so.
22:43 - Redn1ght Oh also. Finnish has done one thing that many languages have not: Inspired Tolkien with his Elvish language.
22:42 - Zaphod Can't comment on Belgian German, but French in Wallonia is quite different than French in France.
22:42 - Erik M. Nathan, I'm not saying you shouldn't distinguish the languages. All I'm explaining is that when I referred to Belgian I meant Flemish. I could've said "Dutch speaking Belgians", which is the same. :P
