The 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards will honor Ozzy Osbourne with the Global Icon Award. After returning from a hiatus two years ago, brutal death metal machine Skinless is now in the studio to record their long awaited new album. This will be their first new album in over eight years and follow-up to Trample The Weak, Hurdle The Dead. The album is planned for a Spring 2015 release via Relapse Records with tentative song titles including "Serpenticide", "Skinless", and "The Beast Smells Blood".

Manowar have pulled out of the Loud Park Festival. Due to circumstances beyond either the promoter's or Manowar's control, the band will be unable to perform at Loud Park Festival on October 18th, 2014. The band will instead play 2 concerts at Zepp Diver City in Tokyo on October 29th and October 30th, 2014. The heavy metallers are currently hard at work on their next studio album as well.

It has been five years since the last opus released by this band, Walk Through Fire has seen the light of day. As a bonus, the band has found the time in the pre-production sessions for the new album to record several covers for a covers album entitled Party Killers. Although no more details have been revealed until now, we can expect to hear covers like "Ogre Battle" from Queen as well as "In For The Kill" from Budgie.

Strasbourg's concert venue La Laiterie has announced the cancellation of several upcoming shows, scheduled from 09/10 to 22/10. Those include one of the two French dates of Accept's 2014 tour, one of the French dates of In Flames' 2014 European tour and one of the French dates of Anathema's 2014 European tour. The findings of a recent security inspection pointed out a potential safety hazard in the main concert hall. As a consequence, the city of Strasbourg - the owner - decided to temporarily shut down the place pending its return to compliance with the regulatory requirements.
