Megadeth - Former Drummer Nick Menza Dies

Devastating news arrive this Sunday morning. Multiple sources are claiming that former and great Megadeth drummer Nick Menza has reportedly died at the age of 51 after suffering a heart failure last night onstage while performing with his band OHM at Los Angeles club The Baked Potato. The venue itself has confirmed it and Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine tweeted about it, feeling gutted.

Cattle Decapitation - Premiere New Video Clip

After recently completing a European tour with Suffocation and Abiotic, the group now releases their new video for "Clandestine Ways (Krokodil Rot)", from their latest album, The Anthropocene Extinction. Directed once again by Mitch Masse, who also directed their video for "Your Disposal", "Clandestine Ways (Krokodil Rot)" is another visual feat in the band's notorious filmography. Megadeth - Tap Dirk Verbeuren For Upcoming Shows

Megadeth have recruited drummer Dirk Verbeuren for their upcoming live shows. He will be filling in at all shows until Chris Adler rejoins them on June 28th. Adler will be busy with Lamb Of God. Dirk Verbeuren has been involved in numerous bands and is Soilwork's drummer but didn't pass up the opportunity. Soilwork will bring in a fill-in drummer in the meantime.

Equilibrium - To Tour Europe With Heidevolk, Finsterforst

Equilibrium just announced an European folk party, or tour rather, in support of their upcoming album, Armageddon. Mithras - Rayner Coss Quits

Mithras are down to one man. The remaining soldier, Leon Macey, has explained on the band's Facebook page that bassist/vocalist Rayner Coss has departed the band. Rayner Coss was one of the founding members along with Leon. The band has been preparing the release of their first full-length in nine years, On Strange Loops, but no release date has been officially announced.

Despised Icon - Debut First Single In 7 Years

After announcing their new album and first since 2009's Day Of Mourning, Montreal based deathcore outfit Despised Icon has released the first single and music video from their new release. Their Nuclear Blast debut, Beast, hits stores on July 22nd. The video for the title track "Beast" was shot and directed by Jessy Fuchs (Obey The Brave, Simple Plan) for Slam Disques. Insomnium - New Album And Book Announced

Finnish melodic death metallers Insomnium have been in the studio forging a very special and bold release during the past few months. Titled Winter's Gate, it is a concept album made up of one epic 40-minute song. The album is built around a short story, "Winter's Gate" ("Talven Portti" in Finnish), written by vocalist and bassist Niilo Sevänen, recipient of numerous Finnish awards and nominations. The short story is about a group of Vikings who set out to find a fabled island west of Ireland, despite the treacherous winter drawing near. The full story will be released together with the album as a book with translations in English, Finnish and German, and illustrated by the artist Teemu Tähkänen.
