Panzer - New Supergroup To Unleash Debut Album

Nuclear Blast just announced the signing of new Teutonic heavy metal trio Panzer. The new German supergroup is comprised of three genre legends: vocalist and bassist Schmier, best known as fronter of Destruction, guitarist Herman Frank (Accept, Victory) as well as drummer Stefan Schwarzmann (Accept, ex-Running Wild). Led Zeppelin - Face 'Stairway To Heaven' Copyright Infringement Case

Led Zeppelin has hired Helene Freeman, an entertainment lawyer who litigated a series of victories for Justin Timberlake's former boy band 'N Sync, to defend Led Zeppelin against a copyright infringement claim by a lawyer for the defunct 1960s group Spirit. The trust of the late Spirit guitarist Randy California filed a complaint on May 31st in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania arguing that the opening notes of Led Zeppelin iconic song "Stairway To Heaven" sound a lot like "Taurus", an instrumental piece by the late Spirit guitarist Randy California, released on his band's debut album in 1968. Lawyers for Led Zeppelin and the band's record company, Warner Music, have until September 22nd to respond to the suit.

Soen - Set To Release New Album In November

We haven't heard news from Soen in quite some time. However, this progressive/alternative metal group has been working on their second album that follows the debut Cognitive. The band features drummer Martin Lopez (ex-Opeth, ex-Amon Amarth), vocalist Joel Ekelöf (Willowtree), guitarist Joakim Platbarzdis and bassist Stefan Stenberg. Their forthcoming studio album is called Tellurian and comes out on November 3rd. Take a look at the album cover below.

Leviathan - New Album Planned For 2015

Primal Fear - New Drummer Announced

Drummer Aquiles Priester has joined German metallers Primal Fear. The band has now announced their new drummer. He will replace Randy Black who left due to irreconcilable differences between him and vocalist Ralf Scheepers. Aquiles Priester is the drummer and founder for the Brazilian heavy metal band Hangar. He was also the drummer for Angra until 2009.

Symphony X - Begin Recording New Album

American progressive/power metal veterans Symphony X enter the studio this week to begin recording the follow-up to 2011's Iconoclast for an early 2015 release. In a recent interview with United Rock Nations, bassist Michael LePond confirms that they will start with the drums, and with all the recording and then the promotion, they hope to have a new album out for the spring.
