Alice Cooper - Former Guitarist Dick Wagner Passes Away

Iconic shock rocker Alice Cooper revealed on his Facebook page that legendary guitarist and former bandmate Dick Wagner passed away on Wednesday, July 30th, at the age of 71. Wagner had recently undergone heart surgery, and contracted a lung infection while hospitalized.

Khold - Releasing New Album, Sign With Peaceville

And now some good news for Khold fans. After a period of 6 years of silence, Norway's exponents of black metal are back with a new album, Til Endes, set for release on the 29th of September (30th September in the US) on Peaceville Records. Khold will be making a special performance at the Brutal Assault festival in August and a new promo video will also soon be revealed. You just have to wait a little bit more now.

Jeff Loomis - Announces Plans For New Album

Jeff Loomis revealed on the latest Summer NAMM 2014 that he's going to start writing songs for his next solo album next month. He plans to be in the studio for it as early as this coming fall. It should be his last one within his contract with Century Media. Maybe after that we can expect the next Conquering Dystopia record. In the video below, he discussed his latest signature model from OG Schecter, as well as plans for the next months. Check it out.

Minsk - In The Studio Recording New Album

While fans were pleased to hear Minsk's hiatus ended last year, they will be even more pleased to know that the post-metal band has entered the studio to begin work on their new full-length record and first in over 5 years. After a two-year hiatus, "the band has been reinvigorated and has written their most ambitious material to date." The album is being recorded at Earth Analog studios outside of Champaign, Illinois throughout July/August and produced by long-time collaborator Sanford Parker. The as-of-yet untitled album will see an early 2015 release via Relapse Records.

White Empress - Paul Allender's New Band Releasing Debut Album

Formed by guitarist Paul Allender (previously of Cradle Of Filth), White Empress debut full-length album, titled Rise Of The Empress, is set for release on Peaceville Records on September 29th. The album was recorded in their studio and has been mixed and mastered by veteran producer, Kit Woolven (Thin Lizzy, Cradle Of Filth). Eluveitie have announced a special online stream of their entire forthcoming album Origins, which has already started. The band will be uploading the album track by track starting with the first one. Once each track has received 1000 plays, it will unlock the next track and so on. Scar Symmetry - Reveal New Album Release Dates And More

At the beginning of the year, Scar Symmetry announced the concept of their upcoming trilogy of albums. At the time, the melodic death metal band shared what we now know will be the album cover for the first part of the trilogy. The Swedes are set to release their new album and successor to 2011's The Unseen Empire this fall. The new creation called The Singularity (Phase 1 - Neohumanity) will be out on October 3rd (Europe), October 6th (UK & France) and October 14th (US) 2014 via Nuclear Blast.
