US punk/crossover thrash metallers D.R.I.'s guitarist and founding member Spike Cassidy is in the hospital recovering from complications after a colectomy (removal of entire colon) performed earlier this month. The recovery process may interfere with the band's future touring plans.

3 Inches Of Blood - Announce New Bassist

Canadian heavy metallers 3 Inches Of Blood have revealed that Byron Stroud (Strapping Young Lad, Fear Factory), who has previously worked with the band, is their new bass player.

Byron Stroud had this to say about it: "I am super stoked to let everyone know that I have joined my brothers in 3IOB. We are busy rehearsing for touring of the new record Long Live Heavy Metal. The band asked me to come on board as manager earlier last year. We rehearse in my bike shop, I've toured with them in the past and being involved in many aspects of the new record has been extremely gratifying for me. I'm looking forward and see a great future for this band. I'll see you all on tour this year."

Amon Amarth - To Perform Special 20th Anniversary Shows

Swedish melodic death metallers Amon Amarth will celebrate their 20th anniversary with five special shows which will take place this August in Germany, Poland and Holland. The band commented about the shows: "We will perform two whole sets containing songs from our entire career and we will also arrange a meet and greet on all shows."

Luca Turilli's Rhapsody - New Album Title And Tracklist Revealed

Luca Turilli has announced that the new Luca Turilli's Rhapsody album will be entitled Ascending To Infinity and will be released on June 29th, 2012, via Nuclear Blast. The album will have around 65 minutes of music. The limited edition will include two additional bonus tracks for 75 minutes of music plus many exclusive gifts to be revealed soon. The "Ascending To Infinity" worldwide headlining tour will kick off this Autumn.

Warbringer - Guitarist Adam Carroll Quits The Band, Announce Replacement

US thrash metallers Warbringer have announced on their official website the departure of guitarist Adam Carroll. To replace him, the band recruited young guitarist Andrew Bennett.

Statement from the band: "As Warbringer begin their next North American tour supporting Iced Earth and Symphony X this week it has been revealed that the band has been joined by a new guitarist. Longtime member Adam Carroll has decided to leave the band and last weekend's shows supporting Death Angel were his last."

Darkest Era - New Video Online

Irish folk metallers Darkest Era have debuted their new video for the song "An Ancient Fire Burns" exclusively at BloodyDisgusting.com. The song comes off their debut album, The Last Caress Of Light, released in February 2011 via Metal Blade Records. The video features a grim story with a surprise ending and is as melancholic and emotional as the band's music and was directed by Kieran Majury with Fastville Productions.

American thrash metallers Byzantine have announced that the band has reunited and is currently working on a new album to be released this year.

Gods Of Metal 2012 - New Bands Confirmed

The four headliners of the 2012 edition of Gods Of Metal have now all been confirmed: Black Sabbath, Manowar, Guns N' Roses and Mötley Crüe. Joining them will be Opeth, Lamb Of God, Within Temptation, Trivium, Sebastian Bach, Unisonic, Killswitch Engage, Devildriver, August Burns Red, Black Stone Cherry, Holyhell and Ugly Kid Joe.
