"We have finished recordings and we have finished mixing the album. The Master has been sent to France for mastering. Roope Latvala ( Sinergy, Children Of Bodom ) came and laid down the leads,then we did some finishing touches for balance and voila, new bastard son has been born:) After eight weeks in the studio.

Soulgrind thanx D - studio and especially Jarno H. for patience and for doing such marvellous job on recording. He is the most up coming studio technician at the moment here in Finland, for sure. Cheers, well done The cover art is almost done also and it should be send to France within a week or so. The cover shall be a painting done by Filip Wärnström, Sweden. The "green one". Ok, see ya next time..."

Masterplan - Releases New Album In January

Masterplan, the new band featuring ex-Helloween guitarist Roland Grapow, ex-Helloween drummer Uli Kusch and former Yngwie Malmsteen/Ark singer Jorn Lande, have set "Aeronautics" as the title of their sophomore full-length album, due on January 24, 2005 via Germany's AFM Records. A four-song EP, containing two non-album cuts plus a multimedia section, will precede the album on November 29. The songs included on the EP are as follows: "Back For My Life" (single and album version), "Crimson Rider", "Killing in Time" (two different versions, non-album cut) and "Love Is a Rock" (non-album cut).

The material was produced by Andy Sneap (Machine head, Exodus, Skinlab, Nevermore) and was mixed by Mikko Karmila. Mastering duties were handled by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios.

DIO album "Master of the Moon" audio samples

30-second audio samples of all 10 tracks from the forthcoming DIO album, "Master of the Moon", have been posted online at SPV web page.

"Master of the Moon" is scheduled for release on August 30 in Europe through SPV Records and August 31 in the U.S. through Sanctuary. The follow-up to 2002's "Killing the Dragon" was recorded at a Los Angeles studio and features lyrics that are "cynical" and "political", with the music being a mixture of up-tempo and doomy tracks, according to frontman Ronnie James Dio.

Masterplan: new album delayed to 2005

After 8 month of songwriting Masterplan is ready to record the second album.

"We are really happy and proud of the new material!"

The new CD will contain about 11 songs. This time all bandmembers appeared as songwriters. Songwriting took place in Hamburg, Aachen, Los Angeles, Slovakia and Norway.

Roy Z. was helping as a good friend and for a couple of songs he was an "inspirator / arranger". Once again Andy Sneap and Masterplan are producing the new Album together in the "Crazy Cat" Studio in Hamburg. The mixing will be done at "Finnvox Studios" in Helsinki by Mikko Karmila. Mastering by Mika Jussila.

The album is scheduled to be released in the end of January 2005 through AFM Records and Marquee (for Japan and South East Asia).

BATHORY Mastermind QUORTHON Dead At 39

BATHORY mastermind Tomas "Quorthon" Forsberg was found dead in his apartment in Stockholm, Sweden on Monday, June 7, informed sources have confirmed to BLABBERMOUTH.NET. The 39-year-old son of Black Mark Records owner Börje Forsberg, long considered one of black metal's founders, died of an apparent heart failure. More information as it becomes available.

Masterplan - Most successful debut album 2003

Due to many faithful fans, who buy original CD's instead of "copy" or "download" them illegally, MASTERPLAN were nominated to the most successful German Newcomer band of Europe. Therefore they were awarded with the new "EUROPEAN BORDER BREAKERS AWARD". The award took place in Cannes, in the frame of MIDEM. The debut album of MASTERPLAN, simply named "Masterplan" was 2003 the official highest sales debut album of a German band in Europe.

In the related news :
According to the motto "never change a winning team" the band is at the moment in Los Angeles, to work together with Roy Z (among others Halford, Bruce Dickinson) on their new songs. The new album will be released in the beginning of autumn, previously in summer will be published a new single to while away the time. The German-Norwegian formation is planning their first headliner tour in autumn.

If this comprehensible lasts to long, the new great solo album of MASTERPLAN singer Jorn Lande, "Out To Every Nation" will be released worldwide on April 26, 2004 by AFM Records and shows once again the unbelievable powerful voice of the Norwegian exception singer.

Masterplan working on sophomore album

MASTERPLAN, the new band featuring ex-HELLOWEEN guitarist Roland Grapow, ex-HELLOWEEN drummer Uli Kusch and former YNGWIE MALMSTEEN/ARK singer Jorn Lande, are currently in Los Angeles with producer Roy Z (BRUCE DICKINSON, HALFORD, HELLOWEEN) working on the material for the follow-up to their highly acclaimed self-titled debut, tentatively due this fall through AFM Records. A single will precede the album in late summer. The group are tentatively planning on embarking on their first European headlining tour shortly following the album's release.

As previously reported, MASTERPLAN were honored with a European Border Breakers Award at this year's MIDEM convention in Cannes, France.

The European Border Breakers Awards are a European Commission initiative which reward ten artists or groups (and their record companies, authors and publishers) for achieving the highest sales for a debut album across the European Union, outside their country of production in 2003.

The ten artists were revealed at the European Border Breakers Awards ceremony, which took place on January 25.
In other news, Lande will be releasing his third solo album, "Out To Every Nation", on April 26 through AFM Records.

Joining Lande during the recording sessions for the new CD were bassist Magnus Rosèn (HAMMERFALL), guitarist Jõrn Viggo Lofstad, and drummer Stian Kristoffersen.

The tentative track listing for "Out To Every Nation" is as follows:

ATROCITY "Cold Black Days" Videoclip!

After a three days videoshot ATROCITY have finished their work for the new videoclip "Cold Black Days" which will be also the new single of the band (instore march 15th). The story of the clip is based on the new concept of the "Atlantis" album of ATROCITY. In the next days the cut of the music video will be done at MVP studios. ORKUS Magazine and METAL HEART will have special features of the making of the the "Cold Black Days" videoclip.

LEAVES EYES' Good News!

Good news from LEAVES' EYES: Thursday 18.12., in the early morning, only a couple of hours after having recorded the vocals for the last track on the upcoming LEAVES' EYES album "Lovelorn", Liv Kristine gave birth to a healthy son in Ludwigsburg/Germany! This was, for sure, perfect timing! Both Liv and Leon Alexander are doing very well, and daddy Alex is proud of his son, the new "Metal God": obviously, the little one has got a strong voice! LEAVES' EYES are just about to finish the production of the debut album, moreover, a video clip for the upcoming single will be made early February.

Hypocrisy - New Album Remixed And Remastered

Hypocrisy mainman Peter Tägtgren has posted the following message to the band's official web site:

"Hell-o everybody!

"We wanna thank everybody that came to the shows in Europe and the USA and supported us. This resulted in Cannibal Corpse wanting to take us out in the USA again in February/March 2004, after which we will tour Europe on the No Mercy festival.

"We will be playing new songs as well as old songs, but we need you to help us select the songs.

"And for those of you who've already downloaded the new album on the net... Great,
however, I just remixed and remastered it. I'm soooooooooooo happy that I did it,
it sounds so much better and will end up on the CD when it's out in stores 16.02.2004. Last minute as always (HYPO-motto)

Master Of Puppets in 'Top 40 albums of all time'

METALLICA's groundbreaking 1986 release "Master of Puppets" has been named one of the Top 40 albums of all time by USA Today music critic Edna Gundersen in the daily newspaper's Dec. 5 edition. Criteria for inclusion was albums that "stand as cohesive bodies of work ? not just fine collections of songs." The list was arranged chronologically and contained no rankings. Others albums that made the Top 40 include GUNS N' ROSES' "Appetite For Destruction" (1987), NINE INCH NAILS' "The Downward Spiral" (1994), NIRVANA's "Nevermind" (1991), and THE RAMONES' "The Ramones" (1976).

Iron Maiden: Host in 'Masters of Rock' Radio show

IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson will be hosting a new seven-part series featuring the best in hard rock and heavy metal.

The series, dubbed "Masters Of Rock", will be airing on November 27 on BBC Radio 2.

Last time round "Masters of Rock" looked at six key years in the music's history. This time each part looks at different aspects of the world of heavy rock, starting with a program devoted to LED ZEPPELIN.
