Frontiers Music Srl will release a new concept album written and performed by two Norwegian musicians, singer Jørn Lande and guitarist Trond Holter (Jorn), titled Dracula: Swing Of Death, on January 23rd in Europe and January 27th in North America. This epic album took close to 4 years to complete. It's not the typical rock opera with a storyteller and long instrumental parts, but more of a dark and melodic rock album with a demonic and beautiful love story inspired by Bram Stoker's Dracula, reflecting the inner shadows of the man and myth. Norwegian group Shining (NOR) has clarified their drummer situation after being asked who their drummer is: Torstein Lofthus, who has been in the band since 1999, or Tobias Ørnes Andersen, who has been performing live with the band since 2013. The frontman Jørgen Munkeby has stated that Torstein Lofthus is officially out of the band and Tobias Ørnes Andersen (ex-Ørkenkjøtt, Leprous, Ihsahn) joined permanently. Also, the band has been recording new songs that they plan to release next year but the details are still under wraps.

Roadburn 2015 is officially taking off. Enslaved guitarist Ivar Bjørnson has been announced as one of the curators of Roadburn Festival 2015 alongside Wardruna's Einar Kvitrafn Selvik. As curators, both Ivar and Einar will personally select the bands for their curated Roadburn event, named Houses of the Holistic, and play special shows with Enslaved and Wardruna respectively as well.

The legendary guitarist and his bandmates Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators will release their new album on September 15th via Slash's own label Dik Hayd International distributed through Roadrunner Records (Europe, Middle East, Africa, & Latin America). The cover artwork can be seen below and was designed by American contemporary artist Ron English. Surprise, surprise. Dødheimsgard (DHG) haven't released any new material for a while but now announced the release of a new album in October 2013 after a six year break. Apparently, a record deal has been inked and material has been written not for one, but two albums which will be released one year apart from each other. The band has not yet disclosed any further details, but more information is to be revealed soon.

Drummer D'arn of Norwegian avantgarde metal band Dødheimsgard has been involved in a serious motor cycle crash. Reports indicate that he suffered a series of minor injuries and broke his arm which forced the band to cancel their appearance on this year's Wacken Open Air festival on very short notice.

Dødheimsgards slot at the Wacken Open Air 2012 has been filled by Red Fang who did play a full one-hour set in compensation.

German power metal band Edguy has checked in with the following announcement about heading to Brazil for a short string of shows with Slash in November this year: "South America has always meant something special to Edguy and their crew. For more than ten years Edguy have toured the continent in support of each album and even though some fans were afraid it wouldn't happen this time, Edguy's booking agency finally announces a short tour of Brazil. Some more dates may follow depending on the schedule."
