American one man black metal act Utstøtt has recently posted online their Taake cover of the song "Doedsjarl". According to Navnløs, the band is a big influence to him in terms of writing. Utstøtt released their debut album this year titled Hjørungavågr. Check it out on Bandcamp if you like atmospheric black metal.

Taake are releasing a new album! Three years after their latest Noregs Vaapen output, the Norwegian black metal band has announced the first details of what will be their sixth full-length album. Titled Stridens Hus, the seven-track album is set for release on the 8th of December worldwide, with the exception of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where the album will appear on the 12th of December via Dark Essence Records. Having started the band back in 1993, Taake mainman Hoest will celebrate 20 years of music by releasing a 20-song, 2 CD collection of Taake rarities. The anniversary album will be released on Dark Essence Records on March 1st in Norway and March 4th worldwide to coincide with a planned European tour celebrating Taake's contribution to Norwegian black metal.

On November 18th, members from high profile Norwegian metal bands, including Darkthrone, Satyricon and Taake, will take part in a live show called "Algir - Støttekonsert For Jonas R. Christiansen", at Bergen's prime rock venue, Garage. The aim is to raise awareness for colon cancer. In addition, Helheim, Gravdal and Slavia themselves will perform in order to help raise funds and provide 31-year-old Jonas Christiansen with a chance to fight the disease.

"Sons & daughters of bitches, your favourite asshole has just completed the new Taake album entitled Noregs Vaapen. It will be released as limited digipak through Dark Essence Records and double LP through Svartekunst Produksjoner in September.

Right now I'm too sick of working on the album to make any promotional statement. But I can quite humbly assure y'all that it's beyond what any of you deserve..

Guest performers include Nocturno Culto (Darkthrone, Attila Csihar (Mayhem) and Demonaz (ex-Immortal), among others. While you wait, the "Kveld" maxi single will be released on vinyl, limited to 300 copies. Look out!"
