Paul Stanley, guitarist/vocalist of American legendary hard-rockers Kiss has posted an update on the band's official website about the new album: "Friday we officially completed work on the new album. Listening to the tracks back to back is like sensory overload. Everyone who has heard any of it is completely blown away. Powerful, heavy, melodic and epic. It makes us very proud. You all will be too. Mixing starts next week."

Their new album Monster is set to be released sometime this year.

US metallers Metallica have confirmed on their official website that a 3D movie is in preparation and it's planned to be released in 2013. The band posted the following message: "As you know, we generally make it a policy not to comment on gossip or rumors, but we also pride ourselves on being first with 'Tallica news. So, with that said, the more astute of you may have noticed a couple of mentions in trade publications, and most recently in the new issue of Rolling Stone, that a Metallica 3D movie is in the works. US proggers King's X have announced on their official website that the band will return to the North American tour circuit this spring for their first West Coast run in three years. The four-week tour entitled First Church Of Rock And Roll Tour will start on March 28th in Austin, Texas, and extend through April 21st in Denver, Colorado.

Finnish cello metallers Apocalyptica announced on their official website that the dates previously scheduled for Brazil and Chile have been cancelled due to issues with the promoter.

In a New Year update, the band stated: "A Happy New Year to all of you! We hope you had a wonderful Christmas time with your friends and family as well as a blasting night to start 2012! US metallers Killswitch Engage announced on their official website that the band decided to continue without vocalist Howard Jones. The band is now making preparations for the upcoming album, due to be released at some point later in the year. The band issued the following update:

"To our family, friends and fans: We have decided to continue on without Howard Jones as the singer of Killswitch Engage. We love Howard and are thankful for the nine years that we've had him in the band. Out of respect for everyone involved we will not be discussing the specific reasons behind this decision. Howard is a part of our family and always will be, and we wish him well. He has left big shoes to fill, so we certainly have our work cut out for us to find the next singer of Killswitch, something we plan on making priority #1 going forward. Most importantly, thanks to all of you for all the support throughout the years and for sticking by us for all this time. Swedish heavy metallers Sabaton have confirmed on their official website that Carolus Rex will be the title of the band's upcoming album, due to be released at the end of May via Nuclear Blast Records. The album will be recorded in a few days with more details to be announced very soon.

The band commented: "We felt it was time for America to get something of a special show and this time the release party will be in Los Angeles, California (on May 23 at the Key Club in West Hollywood). This show will be the only U.S. West Coast show and it will be the world premiere of new songs."
