American band Gwar has revealed Battle Maximus as the title of their new album, the first full-length studio effort since the loss of their longtime guitar player Flattus Maximus. German power metallers Human Fortress are back after a five-year hiatus. The band parted ways with their singer in 2010, and now announced Gus Monsanto (ex-Adagio) as their new vocalist. The band also announced that they have signed with AFM Records for the release of their new upcoming album. The new album recordings are finished and the album will be released by the end of the year.
UK progressive outfit Aeon Zen has made a full live set available for download at their official website. The show was professionally recorded, mixed and mastered. You can simply name the price (if any) and then download the full set. The band also posted a video clip of them performing "Warning" live on their YouTube channel. French stoner metal outfit Wheelfall has posted online their second episode of the YouTube series Live Studio Sessions featuring a cover from Melvins' famous single "Joan Of Arc". You can watch the video below where Wheelfall performs "Joan Of Arc" live at the Studio de La Forge, Dombasle sur Meurthe (France). Their debut album Interzone came out last year.
The Eternal have posted a ten-minute sampler of their upcoming album When The Circle Of Light Begins To Fade. You can check it out below. The band also revealed some additional details on the album. It was engineered and produced by vocalist/guitarist Mark Kelson and is the first album to feature the new guitarist Brad Cook. According to their Facebook page, this album "sees the band return to a darker sound with the band releasing some of their most emotive and personal material to date." Scottish folk power metallers Alestorm have announced a North American headlining tour for this fall, with the addition of guests Trollfest and Gypsyhawk.
