Nevermore - Postpones DVD Recording Show

Nevermore have had to cancel their showing in Bochum, Germany where they were going to film a live DVD. The reason behind the cancellation was because vocalist Warrel Dane surprisingly suffered from a virus. On the morning of September 12th, 2006 (the day of the show) he felt sick and he ended up having to see a doctor at a hospital in Dortmund, Germany.

Here is a comment by Nevermore's management/booking agency:

"Unfortunately we had been informed by the doctor in charge relatively late (around 17:30h) that Warrel was not able to do the show and as the doctor insisted on keeping Warrel at the hospital, we could not do anything else but make the artist's health priority.

Together with band and the local venue (Zeche in Bochum), we agreed to re-do this show on October 11, 2006, Continental Concerts indicated this at the entrance of the venue as soon as we had made this decision.

Of course, all fans can return their tickets wherever they bought them. Nevermore and Continental Concerts are very sorry that we had to cancel this show. We hope and expect Warrel to be able to leave the hospital today to do the shows with Disturbed as well as further headliner shows and after that adequately recompense as many fans as possible at the end of the tour in Bochum on October 11, 2006".

Here is a comment by Nevermore drummer Van Williams:

"Hello everyone, Van here, just wanted to let everyone know that we are very sorry we were unable to do the DVD show. Warrel had to go to the hospital in the morning of that day and doctors have kept him there due to him having pneumonia. We wanted nothing more and were all looking forward to this show with our fans. We realize many of you have travelled far to be with us and Warrel most of all wanted the show to happen. We will update you as soon as we can on his condition. Thanks for sticking with us and more news as soon as we have it. Cheers Van".

Machine Head - Studio Update Posted

Machine Head guitarist Robert Flynn has posted the following studio update on the band's official website:

"WOO - HOO!! We have guitar tone!!! And I'm not talking your average chugga-chugga metal tone, I'm talking face-peeling, ear-shredding savagery... fuck yeah!!! Hetfield eat your heart out! Woo-hoo! Can't wait to get tracking on some tunes tomorrow.

This last week we did some Duce and Demmel scratch tracks for reference when Adam and I sing... I threw on some vocals, some of which may or may not be keepers... had Adam come in for vocals and harmonies and MAN, he is sounding KILLER, we may have some keepers even though they were just for practice. We took a couple days off for the holiday too, drank a bunch'a beers, it was nice, cleared the head".

Also, Machine Head have posted some photos of them during the recording sessions in Sharkbite studios. Click here to view them. The band has also said that they will be posting video footage of themselves in the studio soon.

Machine Men - Begins Recording New Album

Finnish Heavy Metal band Machine Men are currently recording their new album. The album will be called 'The Shadow Gallery' and will be released in January 2007.

Here is a posting by Antony at Fantom Studio, Tampere, Finland:

"We are in the studio since 3 weeks and the songs sound good and very powerful! And we are in schedule 'cos we can record 24 hours a day if we want. Of course, we also have to sleep sometime ;-). The new album will be heavier and faster than the last one, but still melodic. And a good thing is - all the songs work live very well. Can't wait for the moment when I hear all the songs mixed and the feeling of intoxication after that".

You can see some studio diary entries, and pictures of Machine Men in the recording studio at www.machinemen.net.
