Arkona - New Record Detailed
Pagan folk metal Institution Arkona announce the release of their upcoming new studio album, Kob', on June 16, 2023 through Napalm Records. Additional details and first streaming single (title track) can be found below.
Arkona on the single: "The song "Kob'" is the first step of the immersion into the abyss, the step marked by digging the long-buried, forgotten past, primordial evil out of the grave, and the funeral of its resurrector - Humanity. The video provides a visualization of the song, shrouded in the occult darkness of how that all is taking place. Watch it and taste the poisonous fruit of the dark essence of existence."

These guys were my last metal show before the pandemic hit and unfortunately I haven't been to another one since. Partly due to me having moved to the other side of the US in the middle of nowhere. I'll be pre- ordering this. Their last one took a long time to grow on me, but I ended up really liking it. I hope the same is true for this one.

Preordered at Napalm Rec. cuz it's going to be too heavy to find Russian bands on the European market since Russia is Heavy sanctioned for invading Ukraine.

If it's anything like Khram, it's going to be fantastic. That album was magical, so beautiful and captivating. I'm a little disappointed it comes out in June, I was already picturing myself diving into that new album while wandering through the cold winter streets of Berlin. I guess a sunny forest will have to do.

Russia is northen land, I saw in intro part of a video swamp, its cool. This band somehow went under rader in last few years, less news, touring, attention. This band is good they sing songs from days when Russians did worship powerful gods as Perun. Could be 2 min shorter video, but its OK, good song.

This song is so damn good, I'm listening to it on repeat. Can't wait for the album. Arkona is one of the bands that have had the most interesting progression lately...
