of all the masterpieces within the metal genre, there are songs that would be perfect funeral songs. for me i would pick "Beyond the Realms of Death" by Judas Priest and Fagning by Windir are the two metal songs i would have played at my funeral. 1184 probably too. yeah, what about you guys? what would you want at your funeral?

EDIT: CHANGED MY MIND i want arntor played too.

Metallica - To Live Is To Die or Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven, if that's classified as metal

stairway to heaven is always acceptable, not matter the circumstances.

hhhhmmmm.
A tough one, I would have to say The Last Goodbye, Black Label Society.
Zakk originally wrote that for Dimebag. I love the filme clip. Kide versions of them both Dimbag's face fades out as the song ends then it says RIP .
Very emotional anf very fitting i feel.

fade to black by metallica.
Even tho it is about suicide it is a fitting song to be played.
This song evokes so many emotions that it diserves to be played at my funeral

Now that I think about it... Since I have many friends that don't like metal, This song would be perfect:

Elfen Lied - Lilium

I swear I'm about to cry everytime I hear this song. So simple yet so beautiful and sad.

Opeth - To Bid You Farewell

That might actually be a little too emotional maybe... Still, it fits perfectly.

Hmm...I should have added that too my list. Though I can agree, that would be a total tearjerker at a funeral.

Why would I care about the music that's being played? I'm dead anyway. I'll give the ones I leave behind the full power to do whatever they find fitting. I'd like a funeral in the most cliched, by-the-book way possible, too.

But think about it, it's your last chance to really pull one over on your family (unless you left them out of your will)...
It would be great to have it stated in your will that "Who Let The Dogs Out" must be played in it's entirety three times in a row at your funeral.

Yeah it would be a laugh I guess, but as for people that seriously want to 'say goodbye' in 'their own special way', I don't get it. Well, I do get it of course, but I don't get it.

Absolutely. Funerals are for the living more than the dead.

I think a better question would be "Which song do you think would fit your funeral?"
