I like singer Bjork .... my favorite song is Possible Maybe is great!

i love bjork!!! i think she is a unique singer, i've never heard another as creative as her, i think mi favourite album is homogenic and my favourtie song is "army of me"

She was pretty damn awesome at Rock Werchter. It's taken me a while but I am fianlly actively showing an interest of hearing all her work. Her new album is pretty good

I read from a paper that she drinks a litre of vodka every Friday...since she was 15...she told this was the tro0 Icelandic way of life....lol...she's awesome as usual....

i saw a couple of videos of her, but they really irritated me. later on last.fm i saw that she was tagged as trip-hop. does she actually make any trip-hop, if so, could someone recommend me some albums?

As for albums, I would recommend Homogenic, I guess you could say that there are some trip-hop elements. Actually the latest album Volta is pretty awesome, too, but weird.

I was speaking about the video she made to "Pagan Poetry". It is for most part porn, or erotica if you prefer it. I personally can't stand this video.

Has anyone ever seen the movie Dancer in the Dark? It stars Björk and Catherine. It is one of the most emotionally driven films I have ever seen. If any of you know Lars von Trier, this is part of his "Golden Heart Trilogy". The song "I've Seen It All", which Björk with Thom Yorke was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song.

I only know Homogenic, but it's amazing.

Hm, Bjork. Sorry, not too impressed. Interesting voice and arrangements, but still I get a feeling that I've got four pints of illegal alchohol running through my veins whenever I listen to her, and believe me, it's not a pleasant experience.

I love some of her music and I can't stand some of her music. She's a hit-or-miss for me. Vespertine and Homogenic have some good tunes.

I've only heard Volta so far, but I really liked some songs on it. Earth Intruders and The Dull Flame of Desire specifically. Her voice is definetely unique, but I don't think it's that pleasant. I liked the compositions and arrangements, though. I need to look into her stuff more. Any recommendations? I'm into experimental electronic music, really.

Bachelorette from Homogenic. This one would be fantastic played metally. However, she has many filling songs in their albums together with music masterpieces.

My favorite album by Bjork has always been Homogenic...great bunch of songs that flow so nicely...I had Bjork albums but I pawned them when I started getting into metal...stupid idea because now in my post-metal fanatic days (but still metal true and true) I kinda want them back so I'm downloading them right now lol

Volta isn't really her best album...at least in my opinion she has done more grand stuff in the past...therefore...the rest of her music is, for sure, worth trying....There's some good in every her album...

At the moment I have Debut, Post and Volta... I just taked them from the library. I really start to like her. Unfortunately I disliked Medula... It was just too much noise and experimentation, I would try again though.

About Volta, I'm hearing it right now. The first song is just fucking sexy
"Neccesary voodoooooooooooooo!" Ohhh.. I get an orgasm with her voice. But My favorite at the moment is Post and my fav songs from there would be the classic "Army of Me", the sweet/romantic "Hyper-Ballad" and the hilarious yet cute "It's Oh So Quiet"

I think you should listen to "Vespertine"....it's very atmospheric, there ain't a lot catchy tracks there but you've got bit slower, but very emotional songs there....there's a lot harp usage, Inuit choir singing and a lot of shades in it....it's a flowing and smooth album....

"Homogenic" has more catchy songs but the overall structure of the album is electronic...."Medulla" was an experimentation with throat singing and other effects, I agree, but an interesting one...."Homogenic" is clearly more or less pure electronic music....but, for sure, very atmospheric......

Also, try "Selmasongs", the soundtrack for the film "Dancer In The Dark" where Björk was in lead role.....
As I already said, every album of her has something good in it that makes it worth listening.....it's also amazing how she has been able to make every album in a quite unique style without repeating much....

Yeah man.. I also like she make every album so fresh, thanks for the recommendations!

Björk is one of my favorite singers, and one of the best reasons to listen something that isn't metal.

I'm just listening to Bjork again...the way orchestral instruments blend with programming is just so beautiful...did she pioneer this or something?

I knew about her yet I din't listen to her untill my brother (Mr. Doctor) brought some of her cd's.
I fell in love with the son It's Oh So Quiet, it was like I'd been transported into an old B&W movie. The feeling was just amazing.

Army Of Me is good too, for some reason I recognised it the first moment I heard it, it was like a deja vu experience.

Possible Maybe also made me feel like I was somewhere else, it was a funny feelig, yet relaxing.

I've listen to the same cd's as Mr. Doctor and I find her voice incredible, the atmosphere is as nothing I've experienced before.

She's such a good artist!

She has an amazing voice (is from Iceland, she has that spirit in her veins hehe), and very experimental music...BUT I HATE IT! Her voice can trasmit you so many feelings but...for me she has kind of annoying voice. Probably the "Oh! so quiet" song still gives me nightmares.
The only song I "like" is All is full of love, just because Death Cab for Cutie did a cover about that one.

It's strange to think that she is so good artist but hate her at the same time...

I also though that the song I't Oh So Quiet was too overdone in the beginning. With the screams at the end and all that but I got used to it and now I just can't get enough ^^

But I know the feeling of recognizing the artist's talent and hate him/her anyway
