They're pretty good. I think they end up always sounding king of the same after a while. I loved their Final Countdown cover!! And they do have a lot of great songs !

My absolute favourite band! Perfect is actually a good defenition of Norther and some of the albums and songs they have written. Never thought i would say that a band was perfect but norther for me is as good as perfect! And as my friend Warman up there i also think that "Dreams of Endless War" is their best album and i think they reached perfection on their first album wich is really cool btw and i think they can do it again!

I agree with Warman, they are a lot better than Cob. My favorite album by them would have to be the newest one, it's great! My favorite song is Death unlimited

Norther are one of my fave bands, with their best albums IMO being Death Unlimited and Mirror Of Madness. To be honest I found Till Death Unites Us rather disappointing. It sounds to me like CoB's newest album

I don't understand that. Children Of Bodom's new album are less melodical and more aggressive than before. Till Death Unites Us is more technical, two singers, better and more complicated solos and you can really feel the work behind all the songs.
I do respect your opinion, but IMO there is no, absolutely no similarity between these two albums!

i second Warmen, how can that be said?? TDUU was nothing to do with Cob latest what so ever!! seriously,, vocal wise Petri is better that on DU, and Kride is fresh and better that Solution7, both sounding 100% better that Alexi now. guitars wise TDUU continues in a way Norther own style which is as far as ever from AYDY sorta crappy style (save some solos). the keybords on TDUU create a wonderful atmosphere now, unlike CoB again.

just because TDUU sounds heavier that privious albums doesn;t make it similar to AYDY which is less melodic, kinda more thrashy.

Norther is as far as i'm concerned,one of the best metal bands out there.I got into them through Death Unlimited and it's still my fave album along with Mirror of madness.What i really like is the use of Kride Ranta's vocals that were introduced for the 1st time on Death Unlimited only as backing vocals.
I see no resemblance with Children Of Bodom.I can easily tell the 2 apart and i'm to be honest,fed up with the fact that everytime someone mentions Norther and wants to start a discussion about the band,someone else has to come in and start comparing them to Children Of Bodom.It's completely unnecessary and they're totally different.But i guess it's better than comparing them to some crappy band

I understand what you're saying, but I'm still disappointed with TDUU. I just don't get the same feelings as when I listen to MoM or DU. It's ok that you don't see a similarity between Norther and Cob's new albums, but I can't help but be reminded of CoB when listening to TDUU

When I listened "Dreams of Endless War" I liked Norther a lot, then I got "Mirror of Madness", I liked it, it's a good album, maybe better than the first, but it seems to me like "more of the same". I don't like Power Metal and this "extreme power" sounds like it for me. Maybe I have to listen the two new albums.

I will say that all of Norther early stuff was repetative. I remember when I first listened to Mirror that I had a hard time differentiating between the songs. But although repetative, the sound was awesome and I didn't mind. Then the new Album came out and Norther finally achieved a totally unique sound. I look forward to their upcoming albums

Nice band, good technical skill, speed and melody. But I like the previous albums more than I like the newest one. To me, they do not have a lot in common with Children Of Bodom , they both play extreme power metal, but thats were it ends... Lindroos has a nice voice, wich I am longing to hear with Ensiferum

Norther are great! I wish people would stop thinking of them as being in Children Of Bodom's shadow. They'll probably end up better than Bodom if Bodom continue with the direction they're taking.

Good band. I really enjoy Petri's vocals and the group are alltogether talented musicians. I've been listening to Mirror of Madness lately...kind of rediscovering it, very cool album.

I agree with CyGuy, TDUU is kind of a let down to me. the songs just don't grab me like they do on MoM and DU. So except for Evil Ladies, Drowning and Omen, TDUU sucks IMO.

Also, the comparison between Norther and CoB is obvious, both play ( or maybe played ) extreme power, but Norther does have a different sound, you can tell quite easy wich song is made by CoB and wich song is made by Norther

Their old albums is more better than new, the most one i love is "dreams of endless war". Like a light in the dark they make me crazy, the feeling is so strong and i always remeber the melody and power from their passion. I have heard their every artwork but they never make out another one over the first album IMO.

I didn't really consider Norther a very good band for quite some time, but I need to say the Death Unlimitted kicks some serious ass... I think with this album they really found the way to make it work and be original, playing exactly your style of metal... nice band...

I find it very emotional!!!
thats the point of every song made by any artist!!!
The way of expressing the emotion defines the song... gives it the spirit which you feel when you listen to it

Norther .. No one can argue that their one of the best bands to come from Finland maybe after Amorphis ..
I like norther they take you to another dimension.. the first time I heared mirror of madness was about a year ago...
I liked the whole album I would give it a 9/10

I love all of their records, I like them ten times more than COB, the solos are absolutely great, and Planman has made awesome keyboards. The only thing I'd say negative is the drums in TDUU, but don't blame Heikki Saari from them, 'cause Hallio was still in the band while making them. Also I kind of understood that Hallio was already wanting to do something else, than playing in Norther... I don't know, I'm probably wrong.

I've tried to get all of their albums, but I can't find them, the only one I've got is Mirror of Madness, and I must say is one of the best albums I've heard, pure energy!

Well well well ! Norther ahat a great fucking band people! I must say that yes , they are greater than Children of Bodom, maybe due to the great extreme vocals, Laiho does great but not like this dude... I have all their shit and I must say it is one of the best discography I have.
The first time I listen to them was here in metalstorm radio long time ago, long time ago... And i must say I was amazed!
My favorite albums in order from my favorite to the less is : Death Unlimited- Dream of Endless War- Mirror of Madness - Solution 7 - Till Death Unite Us followed by the singles and the Remix of DeathUnlimited

I love Finnish metal !

I have liked all their past albums, although Dreams Of Endless War was too much power metal (great album still). I was also dsappointed about TDUU. I found the most of the lyrics very boring and stupid.

I must say Kristian's clean vocal are great and Day Zero from Solution 7 and Omen are one of my favourite Norther songs. Also the Frozen Sky (instrumental song) is wonderful. I just love it.

Hmm.. Good group playing awesome melodic death metal. Great! And they are from Finland. That's too good thing. So, so. I like much of them music. Guitar solos, drumms are f***ing great and vocals!
I havent heard lot of old Norther, but Death Unlimited album rocks! My first Norther album and still the best. On Till Death Unites Us is some good songs like Throwing My Life Away, Norther and Fuck You.

I love this band, all their albums are amazing, perfect is indeed a good word to describe them. I do agree, TDUU is a little emotional, especially the song "Everything." However, I still like Bodom better, but I've always been a huge Bodom fan.

it means that alot of people say Norther hasn't got a style of their own but they copy the Children Of Bodom style. Wich, by the way, is pure cowshit, because you can definately hear a big difference between CoB and Norther.

That's right! Of course they sound little bit same because they play same style. And what comes to that, that they haven't got own style.. they have that and a lot!

yes, and the same goes for Imperanon, CoB - Imperanon sounds like the same, but they're still different

these guy are good, loving the keyboardist, adding some good melodic stuff to the band... i really didnt like there new album.. i would say there best songs IMO would be stuff like Cry, Last Breath, Death Unlimited, Darkest Time, Blackhearted and Mirror of Madness
