No offence but if you think that The Satanist, The Serpent & The Sphere, Kindly Bent To Free Us and Casualties Of Cool are good... New Cormorant and At The Gates are also nothing special. 2014 is a good year for metal, you just have weird taste

Well, seeing the amount of lists you have you seem to be more of a list-fanatic than me. Not to mention I'm only on MS twice a week or so. And when I am, I barely concern myself with my own lists (anymore... I used to, admittedly).

It's rather not being able to totally grasp an album after just one listen. One of the reasons I need to spin albums multiple times in order to judge them properly.

No offence was taken, and yeah all the album you mentioned are nothing special, may be just Swans album is the most outstanding album out of 2014 in generall. And am not saying 2014 is a bad year, am just saying its not as good as the previous years of 2010s decade.

I'm no Erik, nor Lekiwi and I'm digging obscure side of metal quite often , but I certainly agree with this title, last year there was more of great albums

what about good musicianship, composition, and production ... For example, the new At the Gates, dosent offer anything new or unique at all, but it tops MS 2014 chart, why?, because its simply a good music, but there is nothing special about it.
