I'm probably going to sign up for an Egg one too that's for pick up the same location. Only $.50 more than supermarket eggs. I'd be crazy to not do that.
We grow our own vegetables and peaches but we know a friend with a cattle farm out here so we get from them but it’s not delivered, though that would be really nice
You know the drill, recommend me good metal stuff from 2017. Remember this is not a playlist or promotion place, it should be stuff you have HEARD ATLEAST ONCE which means it is not just stuff YOU think is good but something that OTHERS should find good and enjoy as well.
Death metal from Portugal. Sounds more closely to Disma than anything else to my ears. Quite melodic and groovy. It's hard to judge anything from a single but yeah this seems like something that is worth keeping an eye on.
Nice paradox of an album, couldn't really figure out exactly how it manages to do that but this is the most engaging doom album I've heard since Monolithe III back in 2013.
The mix, the songwriting, the production are all impeccable and it doesn't have any traditional pitfalls of all doom albums. This might just be as catchy as that new Death Grips EP and thats as catchy as catchiness can get.
I know that nobody is going to check this because people here seem to be all about cover art and the cover sucks but I'll try anyway:
Basically black metal versions of happy German chansions. The overall result is a happy raw black with some uplifting chants and melodies. Kinda like some Absurd stuff.
Badass south american doom metal from Chile, this band has been inactive for more than 10 years but they finally released their third album. Ignore the vocals which are a little weak and you have some spacey music to get high without smoking weed. Arbol Cosmico is the song I recommend to listen first.
Quote: "Retrocausal" is Cleric's stunning and long LONG-awaited follow-up to their groundbreaking 2010 album "Regressions". Now with well-earned respect from both the extreme metal underground and Zorn-associated avant garde jazz scene, Cleric more than makes good on their promise. Listen to them rewrite the book on what the combination of the terms "metal" and "avant garde" can (and should) mean. With "Retrocausal" this tireless Philadeliphia-based unit has burst forth with a true masterpiece in the field of extreme experimental music.

Written by Alex F on 11.12.2017 at 21:27 I wanna bump this because this band definitely deserves more recognition. Really cool stuff, plus there's a Gnaw Their Tongues feature which is neat.
Let me get on that bandwagon! This shit is very good!
speaking of which, I need to update my 2017 list badly.
So there is this thing here. I am still on the first listen but so far I'd say it's an avantgarde death with a black metallish drum machine and some hints of trip hop/downtempo? I don't know.
Anyway, I'm liking it a lot
It came out a couple of months ago, but I know a lot of you will love this shit. This is a local band in Florida Apothecary told me about. Misanthropic melodic sludge/hardcore.
Hi! I would like to recommend Neptune, one of the oldest metal bands from Sweden. Still around today and a new album is coming out Feb 2018. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GO4zzGadqRU

If it comes out in 2018, wouldn't that require a whole new thread? (This is for albums from 2017).
Also, I followed the link provided and they sound like very Melodic Traditional Heavy Metal........So why did you quote both me and tominator, both of whom posted a Doom album of some sort?

Thanks for the recommendation, but like Übermensch242 mentioned I don't really see the connection between the doom albums we suggested and your classic heavy metal suggestion.
Still though, I'll give their album a try when it comes out in 2018. You might want to put that album suggestion in a thread for album recommendations of 2018 when the album is out.
The newest Igorrr record was easily my favorite release of 2017. A strain of pure chaos that i had never heard before.

THE ESSENCE OF THE VANQUISHED ECHELONS TRICKLES FROM MY DECOMPOSING JAW INTO THE SQUEALING LEGIONS WHOSE RANKS SPRAWL ACROSS THE LANDSCAPE FOR ACRES. I AM MEATWIFE FUCKSON; SON OF FUCK, SQUEEZER OF MEATS, PILLAGER OF INLETS.
Muddy, dissonant and atmospheric black / death on Steel CartilageFoot Productions. Very nice, with shades of Portal, Blut aus Nord here and there but with some surprising dyanmics involved, like on track 2, which sounds almost Negative Plane-ish. 2017 - 2018 demo compilation but the whole thing feels like an album. Really dig the Ordo ad Chaos-like production but you'll need to turn your speakers up.
