Trigger Warning: ass-shaking, beer chugging, sing-a-long riff-centric tunes from my favorite raucous Irish party patrol.

Oh joyous day! Triggerman are back with another EP. Atomic Rock Number 79 marks the third release Dixie and the lads have sent my way. The last two saw my 100th review - you might remember the audience-participation Mad Lib themed effort and Hail To The River Gods is still on my regular rotation four years on.

Good thing Sajonia, my favorite local craft brew is easy to find these days. Stocked fridge, new Trigger tunes = good times.

At first l thought I'd wandered into a Tool album as the bassline which opens "the Drift" sounds mighty reminiscent of "Schism" off Lateralus, enjoyable intro track.

Soon enough the pieces fit with "Stone The Philosopher" (my fave) and subsequent tracks. Pieces, in Triggerman's case, being riffs and riffs and riffs - some pounding, some driving, solid drum and bass backbone and Bap's awesome vocals, delivered, as noted in an earlier review in a manner I described as "almost like R. Lee Ermey, MC meet USMC.". Now they tossed in some air-guitar worthy soli as well.

The band spend the next four tracks, doing what they do best. Pounding out riff-laden hard rock anthems that will get yer feet or booty moving. Oh yeah, it's also fun.

"Rat Race" sees them pound an urgent tempo and Bap deliver almost what sounds like Jello Biafra in Lard-esque approach of spouting random sayings or bumper sticker slogans, only less random and refined into the framework of, well, you guessed it, the office drone work life/rat race. "Big John" is a slower paced singalong dedicated to their gentle giant amigo, Big John, who is "built like a shithouse, twice as wide" and who sleeps by the Sycamore trees.

The title closes out this 26 minute bundle of sonic joy.

It's up on Spotify now, for you Spotifiers. You can also find it here: Triggerman.co.uk , iTunes, Amazon & Google play.

Do yourself a favor/piss off your neighbors and check it out.
