01. The Undying Travail
02. Morning Star
03. Song Of The Freezing Wind
04. Tale Of The Endless

Inspired by the melodic death metal classics such as Insomnium and Wintersun, this emotional EP, Tale Of The Endless, drives us through an eternally icy voyage. The compositions don't rush into building heaviness; instead, it magically enjoys the ride through Elias Westrin's feelings, a mix between sadness and hope. Oh, and it's also important to mention this is mainly the work of Elias, with the help of some session musicians.

There are great moments of melodic death metal riffs, simple but melting piano arpeggios, a chilling ambience provided by the synths, and the instruments running in the background. Since the very first moments of the songs, you feel the melancholy, but an odd melancholy that brings, somehow, a warm sense of hope.

The songs gradually improve with the passing of tracks, slowly marching towards the eye of the storm through icy, freezing storms. "Morning Star" and "Song Of The Freezing Wind" slowly open the door for something more explosively melodic. When it starts to become monotone, "Tale Of The Endless" takes their remainings and magnificently introduces what we were missing and waiting from the record: the melodic busting of energy characteristic from bands like Insomnium.

If this EP is the first work of this talented musician, I gladly welcome it to be a contender for the EP of the year, since it has received awesome comments within the melodic death metal community. Imagine what Maestitium could achieve with a full-length!

Yes! Very optimistic and fair!
As for me, actually, I had this review ready like a month ago but since this band wasn't published, I wasn't able to upload it. Thank you for opening the door for me!
