Maybe that you don't know them yet, but Awakcs is not a newcomer. Coming from France, this band plays a mix of Heavy and Progressive Metal. Their live performances and musical quality even gave to the band the chance to open for Freak Kitchen in France so believe me you're in front of a nice combo.

The first thing that I really like on this album is its variation. "The Third Way" is not linear and every songs is different. Some are ballads, some others are near of Heavy and finally some others are pure Progressive Metal. In general actually, all the songs have their Progressive touches and when you know that the singer has a voice a bit similar to the one of Phil Collins? I can tell you that a lot of people will enjoy this release.

"The Third Way" doesn't really suffer of any big problems. The production is more than correct, the songs are well-done so for sure this release will please the ones who like Progressive music (Metal and Rock) like the ones who like French Heavy a la Manigance. With lyrics in French and English, it will be ok for people in France like outside France. At the end, I can only add that the album maybe lack of punch (I'm not talking of rhythm here) sometime but all in all it's just a little reproach and the third album of Awacks is just a confirmation for the band.

Good singer, good musicians, good songs? do you really need anything else to understand that the "The Third Way" is a really nice release? Awacks is a good band and I recommend to the fans of Heavy like Progressive Metal to have a look on this release (like on their old ones actually), it's worth your attention!
