Run Of Lava is a new French Hardcore act composed of ex members of Munkyposse (a French band which released 2 Eps between 1998 and 2006). Before that they release their first album in September 2007, the band chose to release an EP "Corrosion" which will be a good way to discover the musical universe of this new combo.

Even with only four tittles it's obvious that the first album of Run Of Lava will probably be a good release. The guys are good musicians no doubt and the music of Run Of Lava is really well-written. The fact is that even if they play Hardcore, the guys didn't fall into the trap of this new wave of "French" Nu Metal/Hardcore scene which is really boring in the end. At the opposite, Run Of Lava plays a kind of groovy American Hardcore which flirts with Pro-Pain or even Entombed for its Death Metal side and it's cool to listen to this kind of music, especially when you know that the EP is really well produced (a good thing for the upcoming album). It's hard to give a final opinion when you only have four tittles but I have some good hopes for this band.

The four songs are heavy and loud with some strong vocals, this is a perfect mix of Hardcore, Thrash, Death and even Grind but it's groovy and doesn't lack of rhythm. Plus, it's not noise, I mean that we're in front of real melodic songs (which are not commercial or anything but which all have great melodies and choruses). I don't know yet how will sound the next album but if the guys follow this way, it will be a nice release, be sure of it!

Let's wait September to see if Run Of Lave can confirm my words but this EP is promising so I think that it should be nice. If you like melodic Hardcore and US influences, have a look on this release and don't forget to check the first album of Run Of Lava which will be out in September 2007. A lot of good things will come for this band which really deserves to find success in the French Metal scene.
