I understand that I as a person, have little control on how my country functions, I'm not that delusional, but I do have an affect on my neighbourhood, which has an effect on my town, which effects my province etc etc etc.

That is a simplification of my points. But the question remains: why would you *want* to be proud of a country in the first place?

You can be proud of your nation while admitting it has its faults. I don't understand why it has to be so binary.
