1994 was pretty great year for metal black metal was in full swing with all its drama, death metal still going strong and a really good year for doom metal. My favorite non-metal albums from 94 1. MTV Unplugged in New York By Nirvana (Acoustic Rock, Alternative Rock)  2. Illmatic By Nas (East coast hip hop, Hardcore hip hop)  3. Dookie By Green Day (Pop punk)  4. Dummy By Portishead (Trip Hop)  5. The Holy Bible By Manic Street Preachers (Alternative Rock, Post-Punk)  My favorite movie from 1994
