A little list series where I list my top 20 favorite metal albums every year starting from the year I was born in.
1995 was amazing, great Black metal albums, Iconic power metal releases, Death second best album and one of the best years for gothic metal. I had to make some rough cuts, so as honorable mentions: Stormcrowfleet by Skepticism, De Profundis by Vader, Destroy Erase Improve by Meshuggah, Ночь Короче Дня by Aria and Orchid by Opeth, 95 was a great year for metal🤘🤘 My favorite non metal albums of 1995 1. Now this --for me-- is the best year metal has ever seen, by more than a margin. It was metal's 3rd peak year (after 1986 and 1990), and it was its last one. In my books I find 7 out of the 32 ten ratings, which I have given so far, alone in this year. In no other year I have so many ten ratings. Back at the time this was the year I finally fell in love with death doom, some gothic and some doom metal. Beforehand I spent my first 3 years in metal mostly sticking to death, heavy, and thrash metal. This is probably the reason why it is my favourite year for metal. Worshiping many subgenres at once, plus love at first sight.  My top releases from 1995 are (cutting it off at a lower 8 rating): 1. Anathema - The Silent Enigma 2. Such an underrated year in metal, some of the best albums ever were released in this year, and alot of diversity too, I would say this is my second favourite year behind 1990.
