Top lists
Women of Doom Doom is my favorite sub genre of metal. One of the main reason being is the sheer diversity it offers, not only in terms of styles but also vocally. Female vocalists are no exception and that is what I want to highlight with this list. The few criteria I have set is that it obviously has to be doom metal of some sort and that it vocally is either sole female vocals or at least for the majority of an albums duration, i.e no "beauty and the beast"-style bands.
New bands are of course constantly forming so this is by no means a complete list. Feel free to suggest bands that might be missing. Enjoy! \m/

Mind Manifesting: Apothecary's Guide To Psychedelic Soundscapes I've always been a huge fan for psychedelic music of any and all kinds. The enveloping atmosphere, the ability of minimalist solos to create a grand sense of harmony, and all those deliciously trippy effects that you can zone out with... they all come together for such a stimulating, otherworldly experience. This is often the type of music I'm most comfortable with: dazing, mind numbing, and hypnotizing.
My psychedelic definitions (including, but not limited to) 1. Very free flowing and (often) formless guitar playing. Specific soloing style of focusing more on the individual notes themselves to create a grand harmony around the main rhythm at hand. 2. Intense manipulation of guitar tone, including feedback, delay, looping, etc. 3. Heavy use of electronic effects. This is something that goes back to the earliest psychedelic bands of the 60s who used hammond organ and harpsichord, but today it's evolved into a wide range of keyboards, synths, equalizers, etc. Recs both encouraged and appreciated.

Hipster Heart - Iron's 2013 As usual, interesting albums of the year to be ranked and reviewed.
This time I'll make it easier for myself, and group weaker releases by genre as soon as I rate them. Expect only 5-3,5/5 to be ranked in order of preference, and possibly a 3,25 category if it's needed.

2013: A Culling Compiled for personal recollection as much as it is for public scrutiny, I hope this list leads you somewhere you want to go. No Order whatsoever. I'm using ♦ to rate the albums, there's really no scale, the more ♦ there is, the better I like the album.
