Vengeance isn't the only thing that falls on this album.

because the first thing people say when I don't mention in a post such as this is "but you've been listening to metal for so extremely long, that's the reaosn why"

In all likelihood, it has naught to do with experience, although that is certainly a contributing factor. Drawing from your album votes and collection, I'm assuming you don't actively search progressive or avant-garde metal. In most cases, I can judge an album not classified within the aforementioned sub-genres after one listen - I'd accredit that to simplicity though...

I don't actively search bands in those genres indeed but I have heard enough bands in those genres to be able to judge them with just one listen. Even though progressive and avant garde might seem complicated at first listen they really aren't that complicated at all. It's all just music.

So then experience does affect your judgement then. Although progressive and avant-garde is "just music", revulsion may be the initial reaction for an inexperienced listener. Have you ever listened to an album, dismissed it, then came to to enjoy after a month or year? Also this depends on your definition of judging, because you could dislike the music, but deem it worthy of appreciation.

It's just another Trivium album.

Aside from a few moments where it seemed they tried and failed to be Disturbed, I'd say this album is very solid heavy metal album. Not extraordinary by any means, just solid. IMO this is what mainstream metal should strive to be, it's commercially friendly, but it's still got meat.

'Incineration: The Broken World' is the best song on this album. The first 4 tracks are also good, but not at the same level. The others are fairly forgettable.
