Superlynx - Biography

Biography

Superlynx is a three piece band from Oslo, Norway, formed in 2013. The band exceeds genres with their distinct sound and melts doom, heavy psych, meditative atmospheres and droning rock together. The band has now started working on their fourth album.

The band have released three albums and one ep. Their third album Electric Temple and their ep Solstice EP both came out in 2021.

On their latest release Solstice EP (Dark Essence Records), the band pays homage to some of their influences with four cover songs, together with two original songs.

The third album Electric Temple (Dark Essence Records) was released April 2021. The album is both a continuation of what they have done before and also a further development. Sonically the expression is a bit more open this time and offers some new explorations. The title of the album refers to music being the band´s temple, and a nod to Jimi Hendrix´ way of looking at his music like electric church music. As always the material is also very personal to the band. The album is mixed by multiple Grammy Award winning producer Marc Urselli (Nick Cave, Mike Patton, Lee Ranaldo, Lou Reed, The Black Crowes etc). Electric Temple received brilliant reviews and several placements on best albums of the year lists.

Superlynx´ second album New Moon (Dark Essence Records) came out in 2019, following their debut LVX (Duplicate Records), which came out in 2016. Both albums received wonderful reviews.

Superlynx love playing live and have developed a reputation as a great live band delivering powerful and atmospheric shows. Through their gigs around Norway and abroad the band has made their mark as a heavy and hyponotic live band with sincere, intense and explosive expressions. Superlynx have played festivals like Høstsabbat, Hellbotn, Inferno Festival, Midgardsblot, Pstereo and Oslo Beikmørke etc. The trio have also shared stages with bands like Weedeater, Sabbath Assembly, Gold, Chrch, Fister, The Wounded Kings, Grave Pleasures, Virus, Sâver, Order, The Moth, Narcosatanicos and many more.

In 2022 Superlynx are working on their fourth album, and plan to play live as much as they can when the pandemic allows it.
