Biography

Conorach is a power metal band from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, founded in 2005. The band consists of lead vocalist Jacco de Wijs, Jurgen de Vries on guitars and backing vocals, Jaco "Jack" Ket on guitars, Daniël van Wijgerden on bass, Sander Zuiderwijk on keys and Ivo van der Stoel on drums.

By infusing the sheer energy of metal with multi-layered orchestrations, traditional European folk influence and a progressive touch, Conorach brings their own unique style to the table that will appeal not only to fans of traditional heavy metal, but also to fans of a more modern and progressive style. The music sets a symbiotic scenery to their lyrics, telling tales varying from historical narratives to inner explorations of the human soul.

Conorach released their demo entitled A New Day Rising in 2006. Since the well-received release of Tales From The Tavern in 2008, Conorach has grown both as musicians as well as composers, maturing their sound into what it is today, releasing the EP 42 Days/Patriot's Song along the way in 2010.

After some minor line-up changes the band reached the present formation. Jaco Ket's entry into the band provided Conorach with the possibility to push the musical boundaries even further. This resulted in the release of Conorach's second full length studio album Through The Ages on the 7th of March 2014.

Since 2006 they have shared the stage with renowned acts such as Rage, Freedom Call, Lord Volture, Roadkill, Heidevolk and Eluveitie. Also, the band has played two fully acoustic shows. Surrounding the release of the latest album Through The Ages, Conorach did a mini-tour in the Czech Republic and a successful performance with Freedom Call. Conorach also ended up as runner-up in the Battle 4 Baroeg Open Air competition and were selected to perform on the Metaldays 2015 festival in Slovenia.
