Cobalt - New Album Update

After 6 years without new releases, extreme metal band Cobalt is working on the follow up to 2009's Gin. Primary composer and instrumentalist Erik Wunder has stated that the material is written and you can expect 9 songs on the upcoming LP. In this new update, it is revealed that Cobalt is booked to enter the studio with long-time collaborator, Dave Otero at Flatline Audio in June. Wunder has also confirmed that vocalist Phil McSorley will not be featured on the album that will be called Slow Forever, by the way.

Djevel - Share New Song

The title track of Saa Raa Og Kald, the new album from Norwegian metallers Djevel (featuring vocalist Erlend Hjelvik of Kvelertak), has been made available online and can now be streamed in the YouTube clip below. This is the second song the black metal band releases from their new output and you can check out "Saa Raa Og Kald" right now. Don't forget the album will be released via Aftermath Music on April 30th, 2015.

Soulfly - New Album Title Revealed, Release In August

Brazilian metallers Soulfly have just announced that follow up to 2013's album Savages is scheduled for release in August. In a recent interview, Max explained that it will be called Archangel, and it comes out in August on Nuclear Blast. And it's pretty much done. The music is all recorded and Max Cavalera only has to finish some vocals, then the mixing and artwork.

Savatage - To Release 'Return To Wacken'

Finally the reunion of progressive metal band Savatage, anxiously awaited by fans, has moved within reach. Now, in 2015, for the first time in over a decade, Savatage will return to the stage as part of a big live celebration at the Wacken Open Air. To celebrate the reunion performance, Savatage and earMUSIC releases the fittingly titled Return To Wacken on June 19th, 2015. A selection of classic studio songs, that the band played live at Wacken in their now two historical shows at the world-famous festival.

Vemod - Join Prophecy Productions, New Album Coming

Vemod from Trondheim, Norway showcased their atmospheric sound on their debut album Venter På Stormene (2012) and their few select live appearances throughout the years. The black metal duo has now joined the Prophecy Productions roster and the label will accompany the band's further efforts, not only with respect to their second album, which Vemod are diligently working on at the moment, but also their upcoming live performance at Prophecy Fest in September.

Virgin Steele - Change New Album Title, Cover Unveiled

At the end of last year, the long-running heavy metallers Virgin Steele announced their new album. It was to be called Hymns To Damnation. However, the group has now changed the album title for some reason. Their forthcoming new studio album will instead be titled Nocturnes Of Hellfire & Damnation. The record will come out with three different covers as a standard 1CD version (the gargoyle cover), 2CD digipak version (the angel cover), 2 LP gatefold version (the flute playing skeleton cover) and download. Motörhead - Cancel Festival Performance Due To Lemmy's Health Issues

Motörhead's South American tour dates didn't begin on a high note, quite the contrary. The legendary band was forced to pull out of the Monsters Of Rock Festival in Brazil over the weekend. Bassist/vocalist Lemmy Kilmister came down ill just hours before and the band cancelled their performance, sadly for Brazilian fans. However, guitarist Phil Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee did have a jam session with Sepultura members. The good news is that Lemmy is doing better now and the band will continue the South America dates.

Original Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward announced he has been working on two solo albums Accountable Beasts and Beyond Aston. In fact, the new album Accountable Beasts has now arrived onto ITunes and is available for digital download here. This is Ward's first solo album in 18 years.
