Paul Masvidal - Releases Solo Album
It has been known for a while that Cynic's Paul Masvidal was working on a solo acoustic record, and now that album has been released. Mythical is the first in a trilogy of EPs called Mythical Human Vessel. Masvidal told Rolling Stone that the trilogy experiments with pulsating sounds called Isochronic tones that are thought to enhance neural perception. You can listen to the album below:
Mythical Human Vessel was mixed and produced by Warren Riker. The Isochronic tones were designed by Dr. Stephane Pigeon, creator of the Brian Eno-celebrated website MyNoise.

Firespawn - New Video Online
Swedish death metal supergroup Firespawn, which features members and ex-members of Entombed, Necrophobic and Dark Funeral, will release their third album, Abominate, on the 7th of June through Century Media Records. While two tracks have already been unveiled, we get our third taste of the upcoming album along with an official video. The song is called "The Gallows End" and it is the album's opening track. Weedpecker - Announce Line-Up Changes, Cancel Tour
Polish stoner outfit Weedpecker have reduced their numbers to just one, as most of the band members have parted ways with each other. The two brothers, Piotr and Bartek have decided to take separate music paths, with Piots remaining and Kuks and Karol leaving the band and joining Bartek in his future musical endeavors. New members for Weedpecker have already been chosen and will be announced soon. The band also canceled their upcoming tour in France and Germany.
