Metallica - Re-Releasing 'Some Kind Of Monster' For 10th Anniversary

You might remember that Metallica released the film Some Kind Of Monster years ago featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes as they confronted personal demons and their relationships with each other while recording their album St. Anger. That included a conversation with former guitarist Dave Mustaine (Megadeth). Now the band is re-releasing Some Kind Of Monster on November 24th, 2014 in two-disc Blu-ray and DVD sets that include Metallica: This Monster Lives, a 25-minute follow-up piece, and it will also be available digitally and via Video On Demand.

AC/DC - New Album In December, Malcolm Young Not Returning

AC/DC will continue to rock out with a new album to be released this December. That's right, the veterans will release a new album 6 years after the last one, Black Ice. Rock Or Bust, as the new album is called, will be released on December 2nd, 2014 on Columbia Records and feature 11 new tracks recorded in Spring 2014 at Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, Canada. Stevie Young, nephew of founding members Angus and Malcolm Young, played guitar on the new album and will tour with the band in 2015.

There is a new band in town called Necromancing The Stone. It features James Malone (Arsis) on guitar, Ryan 'Bart' Williams (ex-The Black Dahlia Murder) on bass, Jeramie Kling (The Absence) on drums, Justin Wood (Brimstone Coven) on guitar, and John Williams (Brimstone Coven) on vocals. The good thing is that you can already hear music from Necromancing The Stone because they just released the song "From Graves To Infamy" for streaming.

Christian Muenzner - Forms New Band With Kelly Sundown Carpenter

Guitarist Christian Muenzner is very busy these days. Apart from recording rhythm guitar parts for the Alkaloid debut album, a new project announced when he and Hannes Grossmann left Obscura, he is also joining forces with vocalist Kelly Sundown Carpenter (Firewind, Beyond Twilight, Iron Mask, etc.) in a new band. Christian Muenzner is very excited about this new band and seems like he wanted to form it for a long time. The songwriting process is underway and more will be revealed very soon.

Nightwish - Announce 2015 North American Tour

As you know, symphonic metal heavyweights Nightwish are currently working on their new album. Today the band announces their 27-date headlining tour through North America for 2015, launching in New York City on April 9th, hitting three Canadian cities plus Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, then closing out in Silver Springs, Maryland on May 14th.
