Well this is a fantastic game that i really enjoy playing, this thread is to discuss the game, no comments about how Morrowind is better etc, see it everywhere and i dont care.

I FINALLY cured vampirism, took a week because i had to collect 40 flowers just to clear my name from the Mages Guild. Then talk to the head guy.

this morning i was playing it and it thought "maybe i should create a topic in MS about that". dude you were faster than me, but that's ok . i have been playing it for 3 weeks more or less and i have to say it's awesome. i'm a huge fan of RPG games, and this can be easily my favorite one (or WoW, hard decision don't you think?). anyway i'm choose the assasin class and dark elf as my race, so as you may have suposed, my principal guild is the assasins or dark brothershirp. i was recruited by this guy who teaches you everything about the guild, and it didn't stop it until i have finished all the quests about them. now i have got the highest position there (i guess is hearer in english). in fact, i got the vampirism sickness, but i didn't cured it because has many benefits for assasins .

so what about you? tell me everything you want to share about this outstanding game.

I love this game, before this I hadn't even heard about the other games in the Elder Scrolls series. My character is a level 35 male Breton vampire, with a custom class of course. Major skills: alchemy, sneak, destruction, restoration, conjuration, mysticism and blade. Birthsign is The Thief.

So I'm like... a hybrid of a mage and a swordsman or something. Ehh... Seems to work quite well. My computer sucks though so I can't use very high graphical settings. I haven't followed the main quest that much though, only 2 oblivion gates closed so far.

Man that dude looks like shit as a vampire, he looked much better as normal.

Some funny moments? I think my funniest moment was when I was at The Waterfront and had some bounty (1000 or so) on me so one of the guards attacked me. So I ran to the houses and jumped on the roof of the nearest building so that the guard can't follow (he only had a sword so he couldn't shoot me). Then for some reason (I don't know if it's because of high level of fame or something) a beggar who lives near there comes and starts punching the guard in the face and eventually beats him to death with bare fists while he just stares at me standing there on the roof. I thought that was pretty funny for a moment.

hard to say because i don't know what's exactly a landmark i guess you're refering to this places where you can enter, kill enemies and get some treasures. in that case, i think it would be a cave, don't know the name, but i got a goblin totem staff that helped me to win all the fights for the gladiator's arena (thx god i found it), or a oblivion portal near to Bruma, because when i kill every fucking daedra there i found a daedra claymore really usefull.

i have another question for you: have you entered to the warrior's guild? there is a mission that i can't finish

Well it's all about getting the correct major skills to get levels fast. This is my second character because I learned from the mistakes I did with the first one. Anyway, the savefile says I've played 63 hours with this character.

The Shrouded Armor + Shrouded Hood you get from the Dark Brotherhood's first quest are pretty good (I still use them) and it doesn't take much effort to get them. They are pretty weak in durability but if you just fix them once in a while they'll be ok.

Shrouded Armor
Shrouded Hood

Some other equiment I'm currently using:
Chillrend (Damage currently 21, Frost Damage 20, Weakness to Frost 35% for 20 secs, 80 uses)
Daedric Claymore (Damage currently 29)
Greater Staff Of Lightning (80 Shock Damage)
Mundane Ring (Reflect Spell 35, Resist Magic 50)
Ring Of Namira (Reflect Damage 12, Reflect Spell 10)
Mirror Shield (Armor currently 11, Reflect Damage 8, Reflect Spell 14)

You use a Chillrend at your level?
I have an Ebony Blade which is much better than a Chillrend (at least i think so), i had a Chillrend for ages though.
And i wear the brotherhood armour too, its great for everything except defense. Sometimes i prefer to use the robe of prtection (shield 12%) with some footwear and head gear over that shrouded armour though.

Well I don't use it anymore, but it was a good weapon. It was fast, had 80 uses, did more than 41 damage per slash unless fighting someone with frost/magic resistance. Now I use a Daedric Claymore (29 damage + 30 damage health), enchanted it with a sigil stone. And I have a Longsword of the Blaze (26 damage + 20 fire damage) for sneak attacks. I didn't find that ebony blade really useful, I sold it pretty quickly. The absorb health is practically useless to me because it's so slight, plus I have pretty good healing spells and potions, and the silence effect is only useful against conjurers because I have a good magic resistance so (the current) targeting spells have a little to no effect to me.

I also recently enchanted some clothes, I have a shirt that fortifies 50 magicka, shoes that give me detect life for 180 feet and leather grieves that fortify 15 blade. All done with sigil stones collected from oblivion gates.

(You might also want to edit the typo in the title of this thread, Edlar --> Elder)

Use the radar/compass to find locations, just go somewhere on the map that looks empty and then look for icons appearing on your radar. You'll find nice weapons and equipment in ruins, caves and forts etc.

At first leveling up is very fast, but at my level it's quite slow, I don't even remember when I leveled up last time. You will just have to do stuff according to your major skills. When your major skills increase enough, you'll level up (you can see the meter on the skills tab). Training the minor skills will not help you level up, but will affect the amount you can add to your attributes once you level up. So it's all about what you have chosen as your major skills in the beginning.

A few examples of increasing levels of some skills:
Blade - Use a blade in battle.
Armorer - Fix your equipment with a repair hammer.
Athletics - Run or swim.
Acrobatics - Jump around or drop from a cliff etc.
Sneak - Sneak near people/creatures without being detected.
Destruction - Use spells that do disintegration/fire/frost/shock damage.

Need info on some specific skills? Just ask.

You could also join the Dark Brotherhood if you haven't already done so and start doing the quests. Dark Brotherhood is associated with some decent equipment (like the Shrouded Hood & Shrouded Armor). If you don't want to know how to join the Dark Brotherhood, don't read further (some might consider this a spoiler or something).

Kill someone innocent, but be careful not to eliminate anyone who can give you quests or is a shopkeeper etc (if you feel like needing them later). You can't kill the most important people anyway, the ones with the crown logo when you aim at them. It would be better to do it somewhere safe where nobody can see it, so you don't get bounty on your head / guards after you. When you kill someone, you will get a message that says something like "Unseen forces have observed your killing". Then find a "secure" bed and go to sleep (doesn't matter for how long) and once you wake up there will be a Speaker of the Dark Brotherhood named Lucien Lachance in your room and he will offer you a chance to join the Dark Brotherhood.

yeah if you want to improve your skills and get some equipment i sugets you to join them. you get a pay for the missions completed (as usual) but you can do another thing in each mission (a sort of bonification) and you get useful magical items. also, if you decide to finish all the quests of the guild, you get this black hand robe and hood, that are like the basic dark brotherhood gear, but the bonifications are 11 for each skill. nice isn't it?

I actually find the Black Hand robe and hood worse than the Shrouded stuff, because they have no armor (Shrouded has 15 or something) and instead of Shrouded Armor's/Hood's acrobatics fortification there is the IMO useless speechcraft. The best combination of them IMO would be to use Shrouded Armor and Black Hand Hood. But I guess any combination is ok.

I finished the main quest like a week ago and since then haven't felt like playing it anymore. Somehow it just felt that the game ended there, while it really didn't end... but you know... There's not much quests to do in the major factions anymore and I don't feel like hunting for some random quests from some bums or so.

One thing I might do is try to play the game with the hardest difficulty starting from the beginning. I read that it's extremely hard with that difficulty and that it's a real pain in the ass to even finish the tutorial dungeon/cave part and you really have to plan EVERYTHING you do much more carefully in order to even stay alive. So starting that would mean lots and lots of hours of hardcore RPG'ing.

Another thing to try is a mod called "OSCUROS OBLIVION OVERHAUL" (http://www.tessource.net/files/cache/3063.html) which changes many aspects of the game dynamics and features. Should be interesting, at least for a while.

@KryptoN- Your tip really helped. I have found a lot of stuff, but my playing time has hit a major downfall. I caught Vampirism and I have really become less interested in the game. I didn't know I could easily cure it in the first 3 days or so, so now I have to cure it. I didn't want this to happpen but it has totally killed my experience and I'm just frustrated instead of having fun. The quest to become cured is ridiculous and way to long.

At a low level vampirism can be quite difficult to deal with but to me at this level I find it actually better to have it because it adds much positive effects etc. I almost never let it go past the second level of vampirism though. The sun damage is not really a problem for me unless for some reason I have lapsed into full (100) vampirism. At lower levels it's easy to just restore health with spells but once it's 100 I need to cast the spell very often which interferes with battles etc.

I think if you just adapt your playing to vampirism you'll do fine. I contracted vampirism at a fairly low level and it was pain in the ass at first. If sun damage is a problem, just go indoors and wait until 6 pm (if I remember correctly sun damage is effective between 6 am and 6 pm). Also, find places where bums sleep for easy feeding access at night. Once you feed on someone, the vampirism build-up is reset (goes back to level 1 regardless of your current level). At the first level of vampirism there is no sun damage and only a slight change in attributes and weaknesses etc. that come with vampirism. At this level nothing should be a problem.
