Wow, political discussions abound and suddenly the pub gets quiet. I think either way we're screwed, but moreso if Romney is elected. Long gone are the days of worthy candidates. I'm so sick of having to choose between the lesser of evils. Does anyone know if there's a 3rd party candidate running besides, was it Rosey O'Donnell for the Green Party????

Aside from that, I'm on an unexpected vacation this week. I was supposed to have surgery but had to cancel because my crappy health insurance wouldn't cover more than 1000 of it, leaving me with 3000 to pay up front and I don't have that kind of cash at the last minute. It will take me months to save up. Luckily it's not emergency surgery so for that I am glad. Maybe if I can get that promotion I've been eyeing at work...

Not at all. K7 is just being K7, talking nonsense and misspelling everything... But it did get me thinking that Arkansas is a state that I really have no associations with. Gotta change that.

Just miles whit prairies in west and trues weird landscape, if you're watched western films abd grow up whit American culture you would like Arkansas ... go to Tervete that area in Lv same far away landscapes, you can see far

Yeah... no. Not a fan of westerns or... grass. I'm like a cat, I like high places - mountains and vast forest areas.
You can't compare Arkansas to Latvia... besides, everywhere in Latvia you can see far if you're high enough.

Since last week it's becoming nasty( and itchy!) and been acquainted to lovely side of homosexuality. Only couple of days back, I told Joe to get on table top position with me to create "fast" internet connection. He declined. I think he's in conundrum.

He might need to buy a closet, sit in it for a while and think, and then get out of the closet.

I'm mad at people who don't pay taxes or move to a country and refuse to learn the national language, but I am not mad at K7. However, to me, as a physical geography and geology student, his ideas on the world geography are rather annoying.

Well, good for you. I know I travelled a lot as a kid but couldn't really place a country on a map without making mistakes. But nowadays the difference between ignorance and knowledge is whether or not one knows how to use Google. So... how hard is that?

Virtual travelling (Google Street View and other opportunities to virtually "visit" a place) indeed does just that. However, you never really get the full experience... so it is really sad the guy's afraid of flying! How about going on a cruise?

Personally, ships make me a bit nervous whereas flying is awesome. But it always depends on your previous experience or just people telling you all kinds of stuff. The first time I was on a ship for more than 15 hours, someone was telling me the story of the biggest maritime disaster in the Baltic sea - how MS Estonia, a cruise ferry, sunk and hundreds of people died... It was not cool.

I know quite a few people who have stated they would never travel overseas for a variety of reasons. But security and safety are important.

And as flight MH370 has reminded us, even a modern aircraft flown can disappaear without a trace. Even Air France lost a jet several years ago.

The skies and oceans aren't exactly great environments for glorified monkeys.

And then there's other glorified monkeys with idiotic ideas that often involve violence against other glorified monkeys who don't share the same idiotic ideas.

Or they just want your bananas, regardless of whether you want to keep them or not.

But they don't feel safe. You are 30,000 feet in the sky flying at 900 kph and then the thing starts shaking and rattling due to turbulence.

And then it drops a bit due to an air pocket.

And then it "lands" by bouncing on the runway and you pray the thrust reversers don't shit themselves.

There's so much that can go wrong on a plane too.

They're flying coffins basically.

Too true. But planes still don't feel safe. And one is not in control of them, unlike a car.

And when planes go splat, it's usually fatal.
